THE WEDDING GOWN
Big day for me tomorrow. I am actually going to start work on my niece’s wedding gown. I have been in Adelaide for over a week now, buying fabric and generally mooching about. Tomorrow I am going to make a start and lay out the fabric and draft the pattern pieces for the final design.
It is going to be a very beautiful and simple gown…. Ivory beaded lace bodice with a organza covered skirt. There is a contrast coloured band just under the bust separating the lace from the organza. The colour will compliment her bridesmaids who are in aubergine. The gown also has lace sleeves, which are more like wide shoulder straps and a medium length train…. Think 1950’s Grace Kelly sort of elegance….
