Drink the Kool-aid
Yesterday I decided to utilize some of the herbal tea bags I have been keeping around but not drinking. I made some iced herbal raspberry tea. I would pretty much equate the stuff to Kool-aid for adults. It's very tasty.
The vet called a few hours ago informing me that Kava's blood work came back and everything was great. So my 9-year-old dog is very healthy. ;) I put his new rabies tag on his collar earlier and it's quite amusing, he sound like a cat with a bell around his neck. I don't think he likes it. Now I just need to find his dog license tag and 'my owner is' tag and add them to his collar. I think they are on the missing dog harness.
The menu for dinner tonight is chicken and sausage gumbo. I was recently at Meijer and I saw that they had roux in a jar so I picked up two of them for future use and today I decided to try it. It is just like the roux I would spend an hour meticulously cooking on the stove only easier. I honestly don't think I'll make dark roux again.
Sometime over the last week my great uncle Dominic died and the viewing was Monday and Tuesday and the funeral was today. I didn't make it to the funeral home on Monday due to Kava's vet appointment. When my aunt called me to tell me he died she told me that he had probably been laying there for several days before anyone found him. Well, that very much was the case. I'm highly surprised the funeral home director didn't insist on a closed casket. Corpse makeup was everywhere. Nails, hands, face, neck, ears, everywhere. I think the hands were the most disturbing. Why they couldn't cover them up is beyond me.
I am working an overtime shift tonight. 10pm to 8am. I'm honestly thinking about switching off my current shift and onto that one but I don't want to give up my MICU stuff. We'll see.
