Ok, it's been forever since I've updated. I have some great news though. I've pretty much got a new boyfriend. His name is Darren Cowan and he lives out in Stockbridge. I met him in a Yahoo chatroom last week. We started off talking about music and I found out that he loves alot of the same bands as me. He's real heavy into black metal too. I used to listen to alot of black metal a few years ago, but couldn't afford the cd's so I quit. I asked him where he was from and he said Stockbridge. I told him that I knew some people that lived out there. He's like 'Who?' and I said 'Jeremy and Jason Sise'. He's like 'No shit! You know the twins too?!' Turns out that he parties with the Sises. The Sises were some of my closest friends when I lived at home. We've kinda grown apart though but still talk on occasion. I called Jeremy on Saturday and wanted to find out what kind of guy Darren was. He said he's trustworthy, smart and very cool. Darren is currently writing feature stories for the Stockbridge newspaper. He also substitute teaches and has another job working afternoons, but not sure what that is yet. I felt comfortable enough with him to meet him on Monday. He came over to hang out. I made us dinner and we talked alot. He knows so much about music! We watched wrestling and talked more. I feel like I've known him for years. I just feel so comfortable with him. He ended up staying the night and left at about 10am. We didn't get alot of sleep. :D I can't wait til tonight. He's coming over after a concert and is gonna crash here again.
I really needed this after the whole Mike thing. I was getting severely depressed when Mike left and was so terrified of not finding anyone else. What's really interesting is that about a week before I met Darren, my friend and I made a checklist of all of the things that I like in a guy, like interests, looks etc. Out of the 33 items on that list, Darren likes or fits 27 of them! I'm just so amazed. I could easily see myself falling for him. Right now, I'm being very cautious about everything. I dont' want my head to be all clouded up by emotions and fail to see if something goes wrong. I'm hopeful that things will work out, but prepared in case they don't. If things dont' work out, at least I know that there are people out there that are what I'm looking for.
Ok, enough about that. I was able to place alot of my mink line with the exception of a couple of my keepers. Once the babies are placed, then I'll be down to an easier number of rats to keep. I've changed my breeding plans too. I had to have Eon euthanized because she had an abcess in her nasal passage and she couldn't breathe anymore. We tried antibiotics but couldn't get the infection out since it was so deep. I think she got bit on her nose and abcessed from the inside. The poor girl. I lost SFR Waiting For The Sun too. He decided to climb down off the food bin where he was hanging out while I cleaned his cage. My dog got him before I knew he had jumped down. I feel just awful. He was getting ready to be bred too. I miss them both so much. In his place, I've decided to put EAGL Crown Royal, a Siamese dumbo buck. He's in with DejaBlue now. He carries blue and manx, so we should get some manx, blue, blue agouti, black and agouti. Dumbos are also possible. I'll be posting the rest of the changes on my website. I'm very excited about these litters.
Oh, the GLFRA meeting is tomorrow at 3pm. It's gonna be pretty fun. Tony from RH is gonna be there and I'm getting a couple of ratties from him. He's getting a couple from me too. I'll be placing some of my other babies as well. It'll probably be a smaller turnout but should be fun nonetheless. I think it's gonna be cool.
Well, I guess that's about all for now. I'm gonna go finish my laundry and clean up the house a bit. I've really had the urge to 'nest' lately. LOL!
