Crazy times!!!!
Let's see. Johanna, Tamara, Meghan, and I are doing a benefit at Ovations and all proceeds are going to The Rose - a breast cancer organization. It'll be in honor of Johanna's mom - it's on October 29th and that's the week of the anniversary of Anna Marie Bonno. We're very excited about this event. We were going to do one at the Playhouse, but since there's a complete lack of organization over there right now, The Rose will be getting our money instead. I'm sure we would've done this anyway, though - it's such a good cause and it's perfect timing. I'm so, so excited.
Let's see - what have I done this week... On Sunday, I had rehearsal w/ Mikey at 11 in the morning for an environmentally friendly show called Rain On the Roof. It's really cute and we'll be doing readings of it at various organizations around Houston. Mikey's writing the music and it's AWESOME! I really, really like it - I want to sing more of his music. That night, Adam and I went to Adam Traylor's wedding. It was beautiful. We hung out w/ Tamara and Ben. We sang a little. It was fun. They had nuts there - that made me happy.
On Monday, I had rehearsal for Crimes of the Heart (w/ O'Dell) and then I met Johanna, Tamara, and Meghan at Friday's to discuss the benefit. We came up w/ all our songs we wanted to use and publicity ideas and a title and all that. It was very productive. Earlier in the evening, I made a Southwestern Cheese Steak for dinner - it was FANTASTIC!!!
Last night, I had my rehearsal w/ Mikey and then the rehearsal w/ O'Dell. We also secured a drummer for our benefit - Robin Borthwick (best drummer in Houston) will be doing it. Again, SO EXCITED!!!
Today, I've been on a roll w/ volunteer organizations. O'Dell and I have orientation on Saturday w/ the AIDS Foundation of Houston. I want to work w/ kids - I'm not sure what O'Dell wants to do. He worked at an AIDS hospice in Oregon. That was random, but relevant. Anyway, I'm glad I'll be going through it w/ O'Dell. Adam's grandfather just gave him a lot of money, so we're going out celebrating tonight w/ some dinner and drinks and maybe some nookie. :-) Oh! I'm also looking into the Montrose Clinic for some volunteer work and I submitted my application to the Women's Crisis Center to be a rape counselor. We'll see!!!
I hope all is well w/ everyone!
