Technically the body does not HAVE to get rid of the lining. Thank you IUD and Depo for not having a period in 11 years. I know a few people who manage their PCOS with an IUD actually. I am sorry you are dealing with sickness.
Wow, your doctor is rather misinformed. I looked to see where you were from (because I could understand if it was a southern state) but Canada is suppose to have better doctors than ours LOL
Just doing a quick search I found an article that says that yes you should have a period BUT if you are taking any kind of birth control then it is not necessary. So essentially, if you are not having periods and not having birth control then there is a problem. If you are not having periods but ARE taking birth control then everything is fine. I was going to link the article but livejournal deemed it spam and would not let me post.
I totally agree though that being sick and periods just makes for worse suckiness than either of them on their own.
