I have always wondered this, too! I mean, I guess in addition to being our own flora, it's also in a mucus membrane, which tend to have pretty high white blood cell count? Could absolutely be talking out of my ass, though.

Also, why the hell didn't we have a tag for 'hemorrhoids'? Modfail.
