Minor nuisance...

Real entry to come, but on another note...

I've been playing Battlefield 2 lately, and I am truely suprised at the number of incompetant fucks on the teams.

Here's a general idea of it: two opposing sides, each with a "main base" (to call for supplies, artillary strikes, and vehicle drops), and other bases to capture inbetween.

A prime example of incompetancy: The game starts, and it's a mad-dash to capture the bases between opposing sides. Somebody dashes for their team's helicopter and immediately takes off with it, leaving it's other 5 seats empty and 5 men stranded at the base. One might think that they'd use the helicopter to do something like circle around from behind and take their main base by suprise, but lo and behold he instead jumps out of it just so he could land on top of a building without ground-access, and then is promptly shot in the head by an opposing sniper. So now that the rest of the team is left to travel on foot, getting picked off by long-range fire is almost certain.

Meanwhile, the person who took our tank has driven straight into the artillary strike called in by the opposition.

And then (this actually happened in 3 (that I noted) games) people start bitching at our commander that there's no supplies, vehicles, or strikes coming in. But why is that? Since so many dumb fucks just run to kill the closest thing to them, our main base has now been captured, and our resources to call in support have been destroyed. And the only engineer on the team to repair any of it is none other than myself.

Though I can't repair it because calls for reinforcements are useless, and one engineer can't take on the squad of men that occupied and raped the main base.

But, the game has its upsides...sometimes. Not nearly often enough, too much of this loner/lone-wolf bullshit.

A battalion of armored vehicles being driven by engineers, with medics and support gunners inside of them is nearly impossible to defeat. I say nearly because in all possibility, the opposing team could do the same thing.

Another working method I saw is when a squad of 6 men is formed, each one playing as a different class. Engineer repairs their armored vehicle and lays anti-vehicular mines, Sniper pops heads and lays anti-personnel mines, Medic heals injuries and revives dead team mates, Support gunner wastes lines of men and refills everyone's ammo, Anti-tank rapes vehicles out their ass, and Assault puts an edge on the ability to kill infantry.

But anyways, it's just a game...I was hoping to do some squad stuff tonight, but I guess not.

Ciao.
