long day is long and tiring,but satisfying

Woo boy am I tired!! Today was mostly all spent outside in the 90 degree heat trying not to get sunburned or eatten alive by killer bugs. I spent the morning filling in at the archery station at Girl Scout day camp for my Mom (who was feeling sick all today). My Mom took the Archery 101 or whatever it's called course, I haven't. Everything I've learned has come from when I was a participant at camps like this one. I had about 15 minutes to figure out what to do with a bunch of little girls who have never even held a bow before. It was madness. Where did all these Daisies and Bronwnies come from?? And why are they all so tiny?! We could barely use the two new bows my Mom bought because they were just too big for these first graders. Luckily I had three other kids there to help me out once I demonstrated what to do. Thank goodness! Though we did have at least a 45 minute debate over which bows were right handed and which were left. I ended up just confusing my self more but it was a fun discussion. I also got bitten by a number of killer mosquitos, like Jumanji bugs seriously, and found two tics on me. I HATE tics so much!!! I seriously ran across my entire house in my underwear and made my Mom get up from her sick bed and get them off of me. *shudder*

Then I came home, took a shower, randomly decided to make some vanilla pudding, and then chilled for a few hours in the blessed AC before heading out to try and record the kids from my Dad's travel softball team pitching and hitting. Which I totally failed at because I got there and discovered there was no cassette in the video camera. Cue facepalm. My Dad was stuck at work and so the only coach there asked me to stay until Dad showed up, and puts me to work feeding balls to a hitting machine for batting practice. Only about half the team was at practice so they used it to work on throwing and hitting change up pitches. I eventually end up in the out field with a random catcher's glove and I admit it was kind of embarrassing to watch until my body pulled itself together and remembered how this softball thing goes. It has been almost 3 years since I've played. Any way, I ended up staying until the end of practice and they after wards to pitch some with my Dad and their new pitching coach. First off, OW my shoulder. Between the archery and the pitching I am feeling the burn baby! It didn't help that I forgot the high school pitching mound was recently moved back three feet since I used to pitch. Three feet doesn't sound like a big difference but it definitely is. I actually pitched better than I expected for not having throw a ball in six months and I had a good time chatting with my Dad and the pitching coach. Looong day for me though. I've been continuing my hobo period lately so this is a change.

And my puppy, River, just came over here, jumped in my lap, on the computer IN my lap, and broke off my number one key. : /   This is the secoud laptop I've had with a key missing. The last time it was the letter 'k' though. No fear, the one key stil works, see: 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1!!!!!

Upcoming plans atm: anticipating my 21st birthday next Tuesday. Excited to actually be having a bit of a party! I usually don't plan big parties with people being gone in the summer. My Grandma is coming down from PA to be here! Even more excited to meet with my besties and spend the weekend at Universal Studios and the grand opening of the Harry Potter part of the park. :D
