So tonight I finally had sushi for the first time thanks to my coworker Nina, her daughter Farrah, and my other coworker Mark. We all met up at Shogun with a reserved booth, and let Farrah do the ordering. While we mostly got California style, I did eat, and enjoy some unagi. Ariel did go with us, and ended up with a yummy teriyaki chicken platter. She ate all the chicken, most of the rice and didn't mess with the miso soup. Which is fine by me. I told her if she didn't like it, she didn't have to eat it. I tried everything, even a tiny amount of wasabi, which might be what is irritating my throat right now... maybe. For dessert I had daifuku which was super yummy! Of course, I was stuffed after eating the sushi, I couldn't finish it, but thankfully got to take it home to enjoy later.  So that was my adventure in sushi. I did have to remind myself what nori tastes like a few times. In the end, my stomach doesn't feel like I put it through a Fear Factor gross-out round. Now if it just would have done that when I tried oysters for the first time.
