First of all, I had my post-op appointment yesterday, at which I was given a clean bill of health and told that my tumor was benign, YAY! The doctor's surgical report was pretty straightforward, and I have a copy of the pathology report as well as some pretty sick pictures of the tumor. I'm relieved that the tumor was benign, and there's pretty much no chance of recurrence, so that's super good news.
Next month is my dad's 60th birthday, and my sisters and I and our husbands are sending him to the Daytona 500 next February as a gift. We'd all discussed it ages ago, and I'd forgotten all about it until one of my sisters emailed today to tell me that they'd bought the tickets. I'm sad that I won't be able to be there for his birthday when everyone tells him about his gift, but I know he'll be excited about it. I have no idea when he became so southern that he started watching NASCAR, but whatever makes him happy, right?
