Reading Tuesdays with Morrie has really sent a jolt in to my little sheltered reality. What is the point of living if you are forgotten when you die. We are born only to die. actually, i think the point of tuesdays w/ morrie was that death isn't depressing at all; it's just a part of life. we are all remembered through the people we help and through the strong relationships we form. Morrie was content with dying because he had lived a full life of helping people, and he had formed really strong bonds with his loved ones, so he knew he'd be remembered. that's something anyone can do.

If you think the only point of living is to die, then maybe you should make some changes in your life so that the things you do are more worthwhile. That doesn't mean don't do what you think is important; if you think something is important and devote yourself to doing it, other people will admire that, and even that in itself is something you'll be remembered for. Think of all the people you admire. Do you think the only point of their being here is to die? I'm sure there are people you respect for their achievements, or for their character, or generosity. Those are all things that make them admirable. That is what makes their lives more important than if they were just here to die.

It really surprises me that you feel that way. You're one of the most well-liked people I've ever known. You're always helpful and genuinely nice, and those aren't characteristics about you that will be forgotten. I know I'll never forget you :) Cheer up.
