I Believe in Republicans (with apologies to The Godfather)

Oct 23, 2008 14:35

I believe in Republicans. Republicans have made my fortune. And I was raised in the Republican fashion. Republicans gave me freedom, but Republicans taught me never to dishonor America.

I found a candidate; not a Reagan Republican. I went to the rallies with him; Republicans stayed out late. The party didn't protest. Two months ago, he took me for a ride, with his running mate. They made me drink the party kool aid. And then they tried to take advantage of me. I resisted. I kept my honor. So they beat me, like an animal. When I went looked at myself, my hope was broken. My belief in my candidates was shattered, held together by slogans. I couldn't even weep because of the pain.

But I wept. Why did I weep? Republicans were the light of my life--beautiful Republicans. Now Republicans will never be beautiful again. I appealed to my family and friends, like a good American. These two Republicans kept campaigning. The party faithful embraced them--despite reservations. Despite reservations! They were nominated that very day! I stood watching C-SPAN like a fool. And those two bastards, they smiled at me.

Then I said to my wife, "For justice, we must go to Barack Obama.
