I've heard that the McCain campaign was having trouble raising money but this is just too much.
McCain Florida campaign co-chairman and Florida Representative Bob Allen was arrested today for offering to blow an undercover policeman for $20 in Veterans Memorial Park. He was taken to Brevard County Jail and not given any ice cream. (I'm a little curious about an entry on his web page mentioning "Recreational Interest: water sports".)
Last night sploof and I were talking about McCain's meteoric descent from the guy who should have gotten the nomination in 2000 until Bush/Rove's slime machine destroyed him to embracing that machine by supporting George Bush when things started falling apart and taking a hawkish attitude at exactly the time when hawkishness fell out of favor, ending in legalizing the torture that was until then his heroic trump card.
