yep. i was on hold once for ten minutes as things burst into flame across the street from my house--as in, about 20 feet from where i was standing.

This is why I don't own a gun. If I found myself in a similar situation, knowing the cops were but a joke, there's not 1 chance in 5 that I'd restrain myself from "solving" the opportunist's problems.
