I've considered buying the Canon Vixia HF R700 Camcorder.  Reviews are pretty good and price seems reasonable at $245.  I don't know if it has the ability for an external microphone, but it would be nice.  Macro is important too, and taking video of reptiles sometimes it's important to have the ability to zoom into shots ( Read more... )
