I finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows two nights ago at like, one in the morning. Bad idea, since I couldn't get to sleep for another hour, lol. Since the book came out, I've been staying overnight at my friend's house (I think I was there for just under a week) where we read it out loud with her family, which was actually a lot of fun. I read it at home on my own, though, to finish it.
I found this comment about the book on Mugglenet (whenever I read a Harry Potter book, I get into this frenzy where all I think about is Harry or the book in general for like, 3 weeks straight), and it completely sums up how I feel about the book:
"I was extremely pleased. DH is probably the greatest book I've read. The entire series is so meaningful and complex... it's just mind-blowing. I particularly liked the last few chapters, like King's Cross. It was just so beautifully put together I thought I was going to cry even harder. Despite others' dislike, I actually did enjoy the epilogue. It was what Jo wanted and after all she did write it a really long time ago so the writing style has obviously changed a bit."
I've encountered so many people who said that they were disappointed by the book, and that they're not happy with how the whole series ended. Personally, I really loved this book, and I'm pretty sure it's going to stick with me for a while. :)
I love, love, LOVED Ron and Hermione finally getting together! So, so adorable. And there were so many jokes that I just could not stop laughing at, even if I tried, like during PotterWatch when Fred talked about running faster than Severus Snape from a bottle of shampoo. Good lord, I don't think I stopped convulsing and crying with laughter for a solid 10 minutes, which just goes to show how easily amused and giggly I can be.
The epilogue is probably what made me cry the most. It was just so wonderful and happy and everything worked out for the end. At that point, it had really hit home that it was all over, that there would be no more Harry books... I was just so happy that the trio settled down and lived a life they never had with Voldemort around, and their kids were absoultely perfect (I don't care if their names were a little cheesy and a little fanfic-esque. Still perfect).
Also with this book, I've developed this huge crush on Rupert Grint... I'm not exactly sure what it was, but just all of a sudden, he was all I could think about, and still is. *sigh* I hate having crushes on unnattainable people, because it's just so... unnattainable. Why me?
What did you guys think of the book? I know that some of you have already posted some Harry stuff earlier this week, but I didn't get online in time to comment on them.
Just wanted to post something because I haven't in a while, and I'm leaving for the weekend and probably won't have a computer to use until I get back. Talk to you then! :)
