Notes/Babbling: I really didn't get anywhere near as much read as I would have liked to, but, on the positive side, I did get a few reviews at least mostly-done for dolphinsex. *weakly waves banner*
Series:
Full Metal Alchemist - 1 Fanfic
Prince of Tennis - 4 Fanfics
Koko wa Greenwood - 2 Fanfics
    FAKE - 1 Fanfic

- Full Metal Alchemist - Walled by Vikki - There are two major things I love about this story. One, is that it's smutfic. I loooooove smutfic. Deeply and truly. Especially when it's hot smutfic, as this one was. The other thing I loved about this story was that the banter was fucking brilliant in how clever it was, I could just hear the characters saying their lines. And that's what sends me over the moon with smutfic--sex is always good, but when you can make it IC sex, when you can weave little character insights into it, to add to the writing? I love that. There are certain facets you can't easily reveal about characters that you can show through sex and I thought this story capitalized very nicely on that. Plus, I loved the line it walked--this wasn't random, one-night-stand, just-using-each-other sex, there were genuine connections and affection there, but it wasn't schmoopy love, either. They never expressed sweet sentiments (....I can't even picture that, yo >_o), they were never sappy. And that Roy never gave Edward a single inch? Never backed down from his teasing and control of the situation? Loved that. *hanyan~* I am a happy, happy fangirl now. (RoyxEd, graphic content.)

- Prince of Tennis - Certainty by Talya Firedancer - *happy, sated sigh* There are few things that make me floatier in this fandom than a well-written clever TezukaFuji story, especially by an author I like so much. There were so many wonderful little characterization notes in this story, from Fuji wondered sometimes if it was his own capacity for masochism that made him enjoy the suffering of people close to him. Not maliciously, of course; Fuji believed life was too short for malice. It was more like a hobby. to the way Tezuka and Fuji interacted without even needing many words, simply being able to read each other so well. I think that's what I loved most of all about this story, that sense of... tension between the two characters, their connection to each other, the way they can read each other without needing words. The way Fuji realizes that just as he can read Tezuka's silences, so can Tezuka read his. The way Fuji realizes what's happening/what's going to happen, even without Tezuka telling him. The other favorite thing was the promise made here and what it was made over--Talya has a way of picking out a little detail like that, a little idea, and having it be one of those things that just... fits, that gives the story character and makes it stand out, yet one of those things that I could see becoming fanon because it works so well. Mind, the GOOD kind of fanon. *sparkle* (TezukaFuji.)

- Prince of Tennis - Truth or Dare by Talya Firedancer - One of the other things I like so much about Talya's writing is that she has a knack for details, like: Life has spun back to normal when the sun rises over the tennis courts of Seigaku and the boys return, jostling, to practice bouts and stamina drinks and mingled scent of cut grass and sweat of exertion on a mild summer day. This just SETS the scene in my head, makes it come right into view, those little details she weaves into her writing both fun and good for description. One of Talya's greatest strengths is that she captures the sense of anime (or manga) in her stories, that I can picture everything she writes so wonderfully in anime form.
And then there's her Fuji whom I adore so, so much, just a hint of sadism, just a hint of busybody, just a hint of troublemaker, just a hint of a good person, and so on. Fuji is more than any one, single characteristic and that comes through beautifully here. The characterization of Eiji is gorgeous, too, she really captures his bounciness and is just clever about it. And I already adore her Tezuka, so much the character I recognize from the screen. And the interaction between Tezuka and Fuji just... gah, I was in orbit over it, especially when Tezuka was telling Fuji not to get involved. The dynamics between them were enough to make me swoon. As was Oishi's interaction with Eiji, the way he was so direct and knew Eiji so well. Just... eeee! I fangirl so hard right now. (OishiEiji, TezukaFuji.)

- Prince of Tennis - Inui's Love Consultation Office by anek - This author is turning out to be one of those authors that I just sort of... shimmer over when she posts something new. Even if I could pick a few nits with the writing, even if I don't agree with everything, I find that she does something far, far, far more important for me--her writing puts a smile on my face, her writing makes me glow. This story was just... cute. *sparkles* As we find out, Tezuka and Fuji were making out in the locker room, heard a loud crash, came out to see a broken flower pot and one of Tezuka's rackets missing--who on earth could have seen them? This is clearly a case for Inui to investigate! XD XD XD I was so, so, so, so amused at the way Inui solved the case, because... just... well... hee! He would know that off the top of his head. I was just grinning the entire way through this because it was fun! I'm really, really looking forward to more from this author. *makes grabby motions* (TezukaFuji, some future MomoRyo?)

- Prince of Tennis - Spaces by Shi Lin - You know, just when I think I've gotten all caught up with an author's work, I'll have to look the story up for one reason or another and realize *facepalm* that I never wrote a rec for it. I suck. Wah. That said, I couldn't find this rec on my site, so I assume I accidentally missed it and shall do a proper petting of Shi-chan's ego rec now. ^_~ Spaces is one of those stories that I like so much because there's that undefinable something between Tezuka and Fuji, that you can just feel and is so much a part of what made me fall for the paring in the first place. The way Fuji can tell Tezuka things he wouldn't tell just anyone... well, to be more precice, that Fuji would let Tezuka figure out things he wouldn't let anyone else, the way Tezuka can see so much of Fuji, who can't quite hide from him. The way Tezuka doesn't need to make a big speech, the way they both know that wouldn't be their style, yet somehow... somehow things are lighter than when they started. *loves* (Some slight TezuFuji but only if you want to see it that way.)

- Koko wa Greenwood - A Winter's Day by NemKess - Greenwood is one of those series that... that I got into fairly early on and I can't even really remember what made me seek it out in the first place, but I fell so hard for it and, to this day, Shinobu and Mitsuru have a special place with me. So to see fic written about them again just delights me, especially cute fic like this. I admit, it wasn't as sharp as some of the Greenwood fic I've seen out there, but I adored the base characterizations--Shinobu was Shinobu and Mitsuru was Mitsuru. Mitsuru is the only one who Shinobu will act even vaguely human for, even if he is still disgustingly good at everything. ....shit, I did not just get a TeniPuri/Greenwood crossover idea. >_Koko wa Greenwood - Tourism by miskatonic - Okay, I admit that I am woefully lacking on the Greenwood manga (*encourages SC to hurry the hell up with it*), but new Greenwood fic is new Greenwood fic. And this was wonderfully written, sharp and clever, the jokes funny and the characterizations just sparkling. Greenwood is a tough series to write for because the characters are so intelligent and clever that the author has to be talented and clever, too, and not everyone can necessarily pull that off. But this was fucking good, even if it was... err... well, lets just say there's a canon AU in the manga (hence, you may not want to read if you're avoiding spoilers) that this plays off of beautifully, but is still batshit odd. But I loved it for that. <3 (Err... I dunno how to warn you for this one.)

- FAKE - Escape by Amet - I've probably mentioned this before and I'll probably mention it again, but good FAKE fanfiction is such a rare, rare bird that I treasure each little story that comes along like this. I admit, I have a tendency to want to strangle Ryo sometimes, even understanding where he's coming from, so reading a story like this actually helps ease that, because... because he understands, here, that there's more to Dee than the goofy, oversexed idiot, even if he can't quite bring himself to do anything about it. I love the insights used here, the way Ryo thinks about Dee, the instances used to get his thoughts across. Lovely fic. (Dee/Ryo.)
