Notes/Babbling: *glares and sulks at FMA* I think
vikki and I are up to about six different fanfic ideas for this stupid series. For some reason, all except one seem to involve Roy annoying the fuck out of Edward so badly that he can't even think straight. I love this series. <3
Which means, w00t! More FMA fanart!

Prince of Tennis/Full Metal Alchemist - sea anemone [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - Okay, I didn't want to be won over by this site, but I was looking for FMA fanart and decided to drop by the TeniPuri section as long as I was here and... crap. Crap, crap, crap. It's all so cute, disarmingly so. The art isn't quite chibi, but it's chibi-esque enough that it's just darling; the artist combining that with a nice sense for colors and a deft hand with the neko ears and tail. It's not so much that it becomes obnoxious, just enough that it tears at my defenses and makes me kinda-sorta like the art. >_> It doesn't hurt that Ryoma's expression is usually so cranky. XD As for the FMA art, there's not a lot here, but I had to rec the site because of the oekaki--I, obviously, rec a lot of Roy fanart, so for me to see some Edward art that somehow tugs at me... is very cool. <3 He's just so cute, though, and the artist really does a terrific job, especially with his eyes. *___* (Some Eiji/Ryoma and Sengoku/Eiji.)

Hunter x Hunter - [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - Gaki was the one to find this site and show it to me and the HxH art was so cuuuuuuuuute that I had to rec it. There's not much HxH art here (only about seven illustrations), but because HxH is such a rare series.... The artist does really, really cute chibi-esque b&w images, but they're really lovely and her shading is wonderful. She does such an adorable Gon especially, but her Kurapika is wonderful as well. Very cute site. ^_^v (No real warnings/pairings.)

Naruto/One Piece - [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - I think I've rec'd this artist/doujinshika's site before for her Houshin Engi art (since that was all I knew at the time), but I wanted to re-rec her for her Naruto, and One Piece, because I could very, very easily fall in love with her work even more than I already have. I've seen her Naruto doujinshi on Yahoo!Japan a lot and I love her lines. Her colors are pretty and her shading is good, but it's the lines of the images that are just fantastic. Her group Naruto illustrations are just amazing in the level of detail she puts into them, making them look incredible. She doesn't have as much One Piece art, but what she does have is NICE, especially her Zoro. There are a lot of really pretty Sanji's around, but it's rare to find a gorgeous Zoro (even though he is XD) and her coloring skillers are even better on these than her Naruto ones. I think she might be getting interested in FMA, too, which would just totally make me happy. (Some KakaIru, SasuNaru, ZoroxSanji.)

Full Metal Alchemist/Harry Potter - C-WAIN [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - Oh, my god, I am in love with this site, the art is just gorgeous. The artist has a very, very strong sense for subdued colors, fabulous lines, amazing shading, and a ton of details in a lot of the illustrations. These things are all well and good and make me swoon, but more than that, it's the feel of the art that entrances me so. Her characters are gorgeous and she has a sense for being able to put them into poses that are very... powerful and impactful, somehow. Just... seriously, wow. One of the best sites out there. Not to mention her comics are incredible, just gorgeous (oh, my god, the lineart of the comics is stunning)--I'd love to comment on some of my favorites, but, really, they're ALL flat-out amazing. And then there's the Harry Potter fanart. Which is just stunning. I have not the words. Well. Okay. Yes, I do. I was talking with Gaki while crawling all over the site, and there was this one illustration of James, and I said: "Oh, my god, JAMES. I WOULD BEAR HIS PRONGY BABIES EVEN IF THEY WERE TARGETED BY HE WHO MUST NOT BE NAMED." But it wasn't just that one, each of the HP illustrations was incredible. The level of detail and the almost gothic, but so incredibly not pretentious about it... fuck, I'm in love. Quite possible one of the most beautiful sites I've seen EVER. (Some RoyxEd.)

Full Metal Alchemist - 00H+1 [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - I'll admit that the pairing isn't my favorite, but I can understand where people would get it from and, hell, I love Roy, too, so.... ^_~ This site has really, really great lineart, fantastic shading, a lot of discipline and does a fantastic Roy. There's also an illustration of Lust, Envy, and the little one I can never remember the name of that's just awesome. I would have liked to have seen what the artist could do with color in her art (I didn't see any colored illustrations on the site), but she does a great job with b&w all on her own, too. (Some RoyxHawkeye.)

Full Metal Alchemist - BM. [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - This site is so cute! The illustrations do tend to be on the "cutesy" side (making Edward look very young), but I kind of like it, because it's very... light and sweet and cute. The lines of the art are lovely and the artist has a strong sense of shading--her comics are gorgeous for this, especially when Roy is lightly kissing Edward's forehead in the second one, very... atmospheric. Or when he's braiding Edward's hair, which should have been sappy and cliche, but it wasn't.... *wibbles* What gets me is the feeling of this artist's illustrations--like, the one in the library where Roy is getting a book for Edward because he can't reach it immediately spawned an entire little scenario around it in my head. I love it when an artist captures the feeling of the series so well like that. (No real warnings/pairing themes.)

Gundam SEED/Inuyasha/Full Metal Alchemist - SEED [ Japanese Fan Art Site ] - Oddly enough, I stumbled over the Gundam SEED fanart on this site first and was just... impressed as all hell, because the art is fantastic. The artist's lines are incredibly professional looking, her shading fantastic and detail amazing; if the colors were a bit more CG-ish, I think I could almost have mistaken her lineart for official work, that's how good it is. I may not come across/seek out much G-SEED art, but this is one of the best ones I've seen, I think. There isn't much FMA art here just yet, but what there is is nice--I especially giggled over the Roy vs Ed!Snowman and cooed over Edward looking so very pretty in some of the other illustrations. The Inuyasha art is also gorgeous, there's an absolutely stunning one of Sesshoumaru that just looks damn near professional. I love. (Some shounen ai, some het.)
