SHARING TIME:
ღ - More scarf sharing that is totally baww-worthy.
ღ - Another beautiful scarfporn piece, with slight SPOILERS for The Reichenbach Fall.
ღ - I'm not sure what to do with all of this, either, but I found this post's theorizing to be super interesting! Obviously there are SPOILERS for The Reichenbach Fall.
ღ - Sherlock and John postcard that's amaaaazing, oh my gosh.
ღ - Maybe I shouldn't laugh, but I kind of shrieked a bit at this. [SPOILERS for The Reichenbach Fall.]
ღ - "Why would I want to have dinner if I wasn't hungry?" is a great photoset. I like that it's not about being the same point, but just about being interesting.

AND ONTO THE RECS:
    Sherlock - 3 Fanfics
    Sherlock - 5 Fanvids
    One Piece - 3 Fanart
    Pokemon - 1 Fanart

Sherlock: A Man of Letters by krabapple - [Note: There are SPOILERS for The Reichenbach Fall in this fic and this rec.] This was a lovely, lovely fic. The author describes it as an, "Obligatory post-Reichenbach fix-it fic.", which is apt, because it does sort of read like a checklist of things to go through: John grieves, everyone around him tries to reach out to him, John slowly starts to heal just a bit, Sherlock shows up again, there's a mess of confused feelings, and then sexytimes. I feel like I should be a bit more jaded, that I've read this fic a bunch of times now, but the author is so good at writing the characters and John's character especially, that I was riveted the entire time! It's so good. John's connection to Sherlock, through the books he leaves behind, the little details worked into the fic, are all gorgeously done. And, hell, even the sexytimes was welcome! I was a little wary (given my lack of wont for sexytimes with these two lately) but I wound up really liking that part, too. Basically, everything about this fic was beautifully done and so satisfying. (Sherlock/John, NSFW.)

Sherlock: A Little Night Reading: Five Vignettes by Morgan Stuart - I enjoy stories like this, where it's a series of scenes that are about five different characters, and it's absolutely stuffed full of little details when the author chooses something for each of the characters to read at night to unwind with. I liked that it was half about the insight into the characters and half about... just enjoying the characters, if that makes sense? Well, it makes sense in my head, anyway. I think Sherlock's is probably my favorite, though, I liked the choices for all of the characters. (No warnings/pairings.)

Sherlock: A Bit of Everything by KCS - [Note: Eventually, there will be SPOILERS for The Reichenbach Fall in this fic, but you can read the first several stories without spoiling yourself for that one.] Oh, this fic! It is a godsend for me. It's a series of not precisely connected stories, just different bits and pieces with the various characters, little stories being told here and there, and they're wonderful. They have such range, from the fics that made me shriek with laughter to the fics that just made me feel warm and fuzzy to the fics that made me want to curl up in a big ball of angsty feelings, all of them just pitch-perfect. I nearly feel like I could recommend each one of these separately, but even I'm not that tacky. So, instead, I'll just pick out a handful of my favorites: Chapter 7 has Sherlock and Mycroft sibling rivalry with John stuck in the middle that literally made me put my reader down just to howl with laughter. (Though, it might be better to read on the author's lj page because it has an accompanying illustration.) Chapter 11 for just making me ache for John on the bad days and feeling very touched when Sherlock makes progress as a human being. And chapter 17 (which is SPOILERY like whoa for The Reichenbach Fall) for being rather gut-wrenching as a post-Reichenbach story. But they're all lovely and, oh, this author's Mycroft is especially a joy, but the Sherlock/John relationshp is pure perfection with everything the author achieves. (No real warnings/pairings.)

Sherlock Fanvid: Slow Life - [Note: There are SPOILERS for The Reichenbach Fall in this vid and this rec.] I definitely like this vidder's style, the way the clips were chosen and edited together. But what really killed me was realizing the use of color and what it represented here, that was such a neat little touch. (Sherlock/John.)

Sherlock Fanvid: Arrival of the Birds - [Note: There are some SPOILERS for series 2 in this vid and this rec.] This is one of those vids that had me taking a deep breath afterwards because of all the feelings it gave me on Sherlock's character and the Sherlock/John friendship. It's instrumental music put together with brief clips from the show, from especially important lines about Sherlock and the people he has (or doesn't have) in his life, the editing is gorgeous, but it's the story that it tells that's really the highlight of it. It's one of those that, after having watched it, I'm just as in love with the characters as ever, sigh. (Sherlock/John.)

Sherlock Fanvid: Remember the name - [Note: There are some SPOILERS for The Reichenbach Fall in this vid and this rec.] This is a very short vid, just a minute long, but it's such a deftly edited piece and the beginning is so fantastic that I had to include it. BBC Sherlock's version of Moriarty took time to grow on me, but it's vids like this that make me remember that there's a lot I really do like about this version and his psychotic badassery. (No warnings/pairings.)

Sherlock Fanvid: Hey Na Na - Okay, so this video was kind of amazing. It's very light-hearted and about the more hilarious moments of Sherlock just being completely outside the usual social norms, using a great selection of clips and keeping things moving with a fast pace. I loved that the vidder put text on the screen often times because, even if I remember the line, it somehow emphasizes the hilarity of those moments. Hell, I even love the song, it's absolutely catchy and somehow fits everything here perfectly. I've rewatched it a couple of times now (because it's incredibly rewatchable) and I think my favorite thing about it is that it's actually a really great representation of Sherlock's character, so incredibly badass and capable and not giving a fuck and totally batshit. Beautiful! (No warnings/pairings.)

Sherlock Fanvid: Jim Moriarty - The Seven Nation Army - [Note: There are SPOILERS for The Reichenbach Fall in this vid and this rec.] I've had trouble with BBC Sherlock's version of Moriarty at times, but every once in awhile, something comes along that really wins me over and this vid is a gorgeous one for the character, it really captures the dangerousness of the character and the unpredictablity and brillance of him. That's the best part of the video, that feeling of impact when you realize the depths of this character, but the video is also beautifully edited and the song/clip choice are gorgeous as well. Just. Ugh. Jesus, what a vid. (No warnings/pairings.)

  - One Piece - [ Pixiv Account ] - I wasn't intending to do a whole lot of pixiv browsing yesterday, just gathering up a few pieces to rec on tumblr, when I stumbled over this artist's work, of Zoro and Sanji in bed, the blanket wrapped around them the only article of clothing they had. And it was so gorgeously done that I had to follow the artist back to the rest of the gallery and! Oh, my. She doesn't have a ton of OP images here--probably about nine total--but they're all so pretty that I can hardly resist! My other favorite is Zoro and Sanji in bed with Zoro's arms wrapped around Sanji while he sleeps or maybe Sanji wrapped around Zoro while they glare in each other's faces, both are gorgeous works, with the artist's eye for beautiful colors and brushstrokes style. Ugh, every time I think I'm out of this pairing, artists like this pull me back in. (Some Zoro/Sanji, some gen.)

  - One Piece - [ Pixiv Account ] - This artist doesn't have a whole lot of submissions to the gallery, but! Yeah, sorry, I'm weak to Zoro/Nami art, because it's semi-rare (in comparison to the rest of the fandom, that is) and this set of images with Nami leaning back in Zoro's lap while they watch tv, just totally casual-like? Ugh, my heart. But I also like the artist's series of sketched kisses that have a messy sort of style that really works for the images, because I really do love smooching a lot, especially when it's pretty like this. This is a site for those who are already ZoNa fans, I suspect, but if you are, it's a very nice treat. (Zoro/Nami, Marco/Ace.)

  - One Piece - [ Pixiv Account ] - Speaking of ZoNa artists appearing to make me happy! I first stumbled over this artist by their newest (at the time of this rec, of course) series of Zoro/Nami images where Nami is lounging on Zoro's back as she plays on a ds lite and I was like, awwww. The second image in that series, the close-up of them dancing, definitely had me intrigued, too. And then there was the full-sized image of Zoro and Nami dancing in black formal wear and, holy crap, so pretty! I am totally a sucker for beautifully designed clothes, but the characters look gorgeous as well, and oh shit my fannish heart--! So, I was pretty well gone at that point, but Nami dancing among the flower petals in another beautifully done black formal dress sealed it for me. There's not a lot of art here and a lot of it sent me over the moon because I was in a ZoNa mood, but! This artist does some absolutely beautiful work and I'm so glad to have found her. (Zoro/Nami.)

  - Pokemon - [ deviantART Account ] - Apparently, like a lot of people, I stumbled over this artist through their fantastic Disgaea-esque Battle Cuts and was all, ooh, shiny! over them. My favorite is probably still the Kanto starters, but they're all pretty fantastic. Then, the more I went through the account, the more I stumbled over interesting pieces like Gengar and Clefairy that cannot be unseen or an awesome one of Lugia (whom I have a real fondness for) or Ho-Oh. It was an interesting, fun stop this afternoon that produced a lot of really neat, fun images to look at and a couple of really epic ones, especially of the Legendaries! *__* I can't ask for more than that. <3 (No warnings/pairings.)
