Bleach: this love by alice_candy - A series of three shorter ficlets that aren't necessarily in a series together, but can be put together for the same feeling they evoke--which is to make me feel all warm and happy and fluffy inside. I especially kind of liked the first one, where Ichigo finally has to say something to Orihime, more than a couple of word strung together at a time, and even when he manages it, the momentum is lost so easily. Plus, Orihime is darling and, even in her nervousness, her crazy thoughts start coming slowly back and just a;sdklfjals;kj omg they are so freaking cute. Each of these is lovely. <3 (Ichigo/Oirhime.)
Code Geass: like loosened threads by aetherae - I was browsing through 31_days and happened to see a Shirley piece and... well, I couldn't resist it. Not when it's as lovely as this one is, which manages to capture so much in just a few words! Even after her memory is gone, something still lingers in her when she looks at Lelouch and she can see the pain on his face as well. And just. Yes, this is everything about them that I loved so dearly. (Sort of Lelouch/Shirley.)
Final Fantasy XIII: Don't Go by candeefloss - I have been wary of getting into the XIII fandom because I'm still in the middle of chapter 11 myself, but... I am OTP'ing Hope/Lightning so hard that I couldn't resist this fic when I saw it in the newsletter, IIRC. I really like this Lightning characterization, it really hits that balance between hardened soldier and human being still in there, the way she can't help being protective of Hope, even when she's all >:| faced about everything. Even though it's a fluffy fic, it fits really well with where they're at in that point of the game and al;sdkjfaslkj I love them so much. (No real warnings/pairings, but if you like Hope/Lightning, you should like this.)
GetBackers: One Finger on the Trigger. by allira_dream - Oh, this was really interesting! A Mafia AU take on the pre-series events, of Ban killing Yamamoto and then meeting Ginji and somehow it works really well. It's not really that different from canon in a lot of ways, which I've always appreciated in AUs like this, but mostly it's just really cool. (No warnings/pairings.)
Kyou Kara Maou!: It's What You Want That Counts by Sweet Venom - One of the things I want most from the fandom (aside from shipper fic, obv.) is Conrad and Wolfram's relationship, because it's such an interesting and fun one! This fic is mostly pure sweetness, with everyone being unable to help spoiling Wolfram, including Conrad, and then... even when Wolfram rejects him for being half-human, there's still that thread of sweetness in the relationship. Just. a s;dlkfjasljk my heeeeeeart! (No warnings/pairings.)
Kyou Kara Maou!: At A Standstill by sachi - Pero suggested this fic to me when I was prowling for more ConYuu noms and it was a case of really good timing--in my current rewatch of the series, I was just getting to the end of the first season, where Conrad finally comes back to Shin Makoku, which this fic deals with--the demons that haunt him even after he returns, because Conrad is like that. He puts too much on his shoulders and blames himself for things that aren't his fault, but it takes Yuuri finally talking with him to straighten things out. This slipped between the frames of canon nicely and made the storyline feel all the more satisfying for it. (Conrad/Yuuri.)
Kyou Kara Maou!: A Dance in Slow Motion by Piru-tan - Another one Pero suggested and I rather ate up like candy! :D I don't need ConYuu porn very often, it's one of those ships that I like for other aspects, but that's not to say I don't want it sometimes. And this fic came along at about the right time for me, a really satisfying resolution to a lot of the UST that I've gone through with so much of the rest of the fandom (which is delicious, don't get me wrong) and also... it's sweet and fluffy and happy and warm, all things that I love with this ship. It captures that atmosphere between, the one where still waters are hiding such deep, deep feelings and it's all so intensely sweet (without being too sugary for me) when you get into it. And of course I love that it takes time and patience, so much of both, but is all the better for when they do finally get there. (Conrad/Yuuri, NC-17.)
Kyou Kara Maou!: Shadows and Sheets by Crystaltear - I admit that this fic was difficult for me to get into at first because I wasn't sure if it really was going to be a ConYuu fic and I wonder if other fans of the pairing won't feel the same way at first? But it was really worth it for me to stick through to the end because it's something I don't read a lot of, dealing with the complicated issue of Wolfram's feelings when it comes to both Yuuri and Conrad. I really liked the way this author handled the issues, how it wasn't perfect with anyone, they all have their missteps and flaws, but that made the resolution all the sweeter. I found myself swept up in the fic, all the tough choices that Yuuri had to face, the decision he finally had to make, given his different feelings towards both of the brothers and I really loved how things were resolved. I love how much time it took, how things just kept building, how it grew without them really trying to. And I loved the scenes of Yuuri and Conrad on earth! I am a total sucker for that kind of thing. The ending was a touch bittersweet, but really good. It's very firmly a ConYuu fic, but it deals well with Wolfram's character, and it was a really nice read for that. Very satisfying. (Conrad/Yuuri, some Wolfram/Yuuri.)
Kyou Kara Maou!: Bedtime Stories by Crystaltear - One of the things I love about this series is how adorable Greta is and how much fun it is to see her interacting with the other characters. I adore the image this fic put forth--Yuuri and Greta having fallen asleep on Conrad after a bedtime story--but even more, I like the way it's set from Wolfram's point of view and what it says about him, given how he reacts late at night, to the scene before him. (Conrad/Yuuri.)
Kyou Kara Maou!: Sword Play by Crystaltear - Oh, I can't help it, this fic makes me laugh every time I read it. It's not a long one, just another one of those crazy little moments in the MaruMa series with Anissina's inventions and it's hilarious and, what really sold me, is that Conrad is genuinely laughing here. He should totally do that more often! (No real warnings/pairings.)
Kyou Kara Maou!: Normality by Crystaltear - Well, as long as I was going through the author's fics, I might as well keep going! And this fic is another short one, but it really kind of flew by for me. It's a simple one--Yuuri and Conrad go to earth because Yuuri needs a short break from all the Shin Makoku craziness--but it's a quiet moment of connection between the two of them, which is a lot of what I love about this pairing. (Conrad/Yuuri.)
Kyou Kara Maou!: Coming Home by Crystaltear - ....well, shit, I think I might have a new ship now. I read this for the Conrad/Yuuri, of course, and because I find Adelbert's complicated relationship with Yuuri to be interesting, so having him look over at Yuuri during an official party, all those complicated (and grumpy) feelings at play, it was interesting. And then Gisela walks up and she's so... she's such a gentle person, except when she's REALLY NOT, and it was kind of perfect. Dammit. (Adelbert+Gisela, Conrad/Yuuri, mentions of Adelbert/Julia.)
Princess Tutu: The Little Bird That Kept So Many Warm by silverfyshxin - I love post-series fics for Tutu because they so often get into all this interesting meta stuff about stories and words and endings, while still giving you an actual story. I adored that about this piece, that it felt like a natural progression of the meta aspect of the series and where Fakia and Ahiru would go after the ending. I love that it's not very easy for them afterwards, I love how spot on both characters felt, and I loved all the details of the background world and the various ways Fakia tries to turn Ahiru back into a girl. This is the kind of fic I feel like I could read forever with this fandom. (Fakia/Ahiru.)
Okami Doujinshi (raw): Mizu Kagami + Anta Koitsura dou omou - [Note: There are two doujinshi on this page, but I'm going to recommend both of them together.] Man, do I wish Okami had a bigger fandom so that I could get fun treats like this more often! Because I love Okami doujinshi, especially when they're focused on Waka! Both of these books are lovely and have a focus on Waka and his troopers, which is also really nice to see. The art is very pretty in both of them and there's tons of detail to each page and the whole background world is just as lovely and vibrant as in the game. Ahhh, I just sort of want to roll around and glee in this fandom for awhile! (Potential implied pairings, but it could sort of be gen, too? Idk.)
- Kyou Kara Maou! - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Oh, it really did not take me long to fall in love with this site. It might not be for everyone, I suspect the art will be more "!!!!!" inspiring for those who already ship Conrad/Yuuri or who are big Conrad fans, but I do think it's a genuinely lovely site with a handful of images that would delight anyone. The artist draws really kind of hotass characters--recognizable, but in her own style, which I really kind of loved--and with all sorts of different uniforms and outfits. *__* I love it when artist's do that! The style is a bit rough, but that's deliberate and asl;dfkjaslkj god her Yuuri and Conrad are hot. *__* Plus, there's a ton of doodles/oekaki of ConYuu and Conrad in uniforms that kind of steadily wore me down because he just looks so good in them and just. - Kyou Kara Maou! - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I was on the fence with this site for awhile, but eventually had to come down on the side of recommending it because... okay, the Conrad/Yuuri art is delightful and there's A LOT OF ART on this site, which makes me happy, even if a lot of it is oekaki art, which grows on me after a time. The first page of ConYuu art has some lovely pieces, especially the one of Conrad holding Yuuri as the water dragon swirls around them and the adorable comic on the bottom of the page. I'd recommend this site just for those images alone. But what also got me was... on the etc. pages, the sheer amount of variety and hilarious little situations that the artist comes up with! So much Conrad love! I... I'm weak, okay. (Mostly Conrad/Yuuri, some Conrad/other, some gen.)
- Kyou Kara Maou! - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I admit that this site was difficult for me to figure out how to navigate at first and, hell, I'm still not sure I managed to get through it all the way, but! What I did manage to find was kind of ridiculously awesome art with these really epic moments. The ones of Conrad/Yuuri were my favorites, of course, especially when the artist would put them in gorgeous uniforms or have one of them leaning heavily into the other, but! There's also this beautiful one of Gunter with baby Conrad as he holds a sword as Gunter holds him and it's just. Oh, my heart. And the black & white one of Yuuri, Conrad, and Greta? a;sdlkfjaslkj omg my heart once again--! Totally worth the effort of trying to work around in the site. ♥ (Conrad/Yuuri, some gen.)
- Kyou Kara Maou! - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - This is another site where I suspect that it'll help to already be a fan of ConYuu, but... the further I got into the gallery, the more I felt it could appeal to those on the fence as well. Her color art has these slick, glossy lines and colors that look really nice--it's her own style, but it works well enough with the characters. With the sketches, you can really start to see how solid the lineart actually is, and I love how... how much happiness and adorableness the artist gets in just by having characters smile at each other or lean on each other or gently touch hands. And, hell, I also love that, despite it being a ConYuu site, there's art of loads of other characters and adorable gen stuff as well--I really loved getting to see sketches of Yozak or Greta or Gunter or Wolfram, too! Not to mention that there is A LOT OF ART on this site, making it one of the most fun to go through, in this fandom. It just... it put me back in my happy place with MaruMa. ♥ (Some Conrad/Yuuri, some gen.)
- Kyou Kara Maou! - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I really didn't know what to make of this site at first, it's such a different style from what I'm used to! But the artist is tremendously talented and she has this great inking style that makes everything look so very polished. The character don't necessarily always look like themselves, but it often just makes them more interesting because everything's touched with that same style of the artist. There are a few images where the artist sort of just nails the MaruMa style--there's one of Ulrike especially that was just fantastic--but mostly it's one of those sites where... either you have to be really interested in different art styles or interested in really detailed, polished artwork or interested in the pairing on the site. Since I kind of fall into all three categories, I loved the hell out of this site. <3 Plus, all the soft kisses and lazily curled up in bed together and bundled up in winter clothes and AU fantasy outfits and some occasionally genuinely gorgeous art? Yeah, I spent a ton of time here. *___* (Conrad/Yuuri, a smidge of gen.)
- Kyou Kara Maou! - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I was kind of on the fence about this site for awhile, but I wanted to keep going because I was still in the mood for ConYuu art and... somewhere along the line, there were enough illustrations that I thought were really quite lovely that... the site just won me over. The artist's style is a bit rough in the beginning, but you can see her improving and there's moments of really pretty artwork and she captures the feelings of the characters so well and there are other pairings! Like, there's a couple of pretty Yozak/Yuuri images! And a Yozak/Murata image! But the main reason to go to this site is still the sweet and warmly colored ConYuu art and I wouldn't have it any other way. <3 (Conrad/Yuuri, some other/gen.)

The bright colors, the clean and sharp lines, the adorable clothes and poses... all of it is stuff that totally reminds me that I love this fanart stuff A LOT. *___* (Shinou/Daikenja.)

There are a few images where the artist sort of just nails the MaruMa style--there's one of Ulrike especially that was just fantastic--but mostly it's one of those sites where... either you have to be really interested in different art styles or interested in really detailed, polished artwork or interested in the pairing on the site. Since I kind of fall into all three categories, I loved the hell out of this site. <3 Plus, all the soft kisses and lazily curled up in bed together and bundled up in winter clothes and AU fantasy outfits and some occasionally genuinely gorgeous art? - Kyou Kara Maou! - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - I was kind of on the fence about this site for awhile, but I wanted to keep going because I was still in the mood for ConYuu art and... somewhere along the line, there were enough illustrations that I thought were really quite lovely that... the site just won me over. The artist's style is a bit rough in the beginning, but you can see her improving and there's moments of really pretty artwork and she captures the feelings of the characters so well and there are other pairings! Like, there's a couple of pretty Yozak/Yuuri images! And a Yozak/Murata image! But the main reason to go to this site is still the sweet and warmly colored ConYuu art and I wouldn't have it any other way. <3 (Conrad/Yuuri, some other/gen.)
- Kyou Kara Maou! - [ Japanese Fanart Site ] - Not that I'm very far into the second season yet, so I should probably be staying away from stuff that I'm not directly inspired to find yet, but... oh, man, is this site kind of ever really super gorgeous! Both Shinou and Daikenja are beautiful on this site, several of the images are just kind of stunningly pretty, and I could only want for more full detailed backgrounds on the characters. The bright colors, the clean and sharp lines, the adorable clothes and poses... all of it is stuff that totally reminds me that I love this fanart stuff A LOT. *___* (Shinou/Daikenja.)
