i read another book on tour but i cant remember what one right now.

musical projects:
bands i'm producing: last house on state, gloria, the semester.

last house on state just needs to add phil's guitar parts, and jordan needs to do vocals on a couple tunes. they will require a little editing since they're a little less experienced w/ recording and not everything is totally on w/ the click. but it's sound pretty cool so far. jordan can sing his ass off. 16 year old kid who rarely hits a flat note. pretty impressive.

we have a gloria song pretty much done musically, but karl and i will fine-comb over stuff because there are a couple places where we can edit it a little tighter. webby's going to come in and do vocals on it w/in the next couple of days. we began pre-production on another song, changed up some drum parts and synchopated the bass, played w/ delays, etc. it's a good tune. anxious to commit it to a recording. josh got a new line-6 delay pedal, so we can play more w/ textures and ambience which they can replicate live.
i'm eager to hear webby's ideas for vocals, as i have a few of my own, and we can feed off each other.

the semester informs me they have a new song, "that sounds a lot like joshua tree U2." needless to say, i'm pretty excited to hear it. when they're ready, we'll lock down for a couple days and put in some serious time w/ pre-production. these guys pretty much have their shit together, so it won't be too hard, but i'm sure there will be some serious brainstorming and trial of ideas going on. then we pick what everyone liked the best, rework the songs w/ those ideas and run with it.

my onw music:

small towns burn a little slower is working on new material. i think it's a lot more mature than the record, mainly because a lot of that material was written a year-or-two ago. the new still is still catchy, but w/ everyone writing a lot more, there are more influences coming to the table. there is a new song danny wrote that reminds me of something off springsteen's "nebraska" album, which i think rules.

we just got back from a tour w/ june/the audition/forgive durden. it was an excellent tour w/ good shows and good turn-outs. i'm sure we'll hit the road again before i have time to catch my breath.

and i've been writing a lot of music of my own, which is reminiscent of early cure/psychedelic furs.
i've been recording it here and there when i can. there will be guest vocalists on it. i plan on making kind of a compilation and selling it locally, using the proceeds to help a friend w/ medical bills that were acquired from his son's medical condition. i dont have a name for the project yet, and it's a work in progress which will take some time to complete. nonetheless, i enjoy working on it and am anxious to hear the final results.
