I sort of miss Winter right now. This is the kind of thing that people in sunny California do not experience. I wonder if the people who live in ever-warm climates are less bi-polar than us Midwesterners. In Summer we can be extroverted: wearing very little clothing, being wild and promiscuous, playing out in the hot sun in our lakes and rivers, our cars and boats. And in Winter we can be hermits, hiding in our ice and snow encapsulated domiciles with no enmity from others.
If I say "I don't feel like going outside today" when it's 80 degrees and sunny, my friends give me shit and haul my ass outside anyway. If I say the same thing six months later when it's 20 degrees and snowing, they say "I totally understand."
So I do not miss the cold and the harshness of the weather, but I miss the ability to easily escape the world without drawing attention to myself.
