I know barely anyone who spends time with me anymore reads this. They all have moved on to the newest vogue: Facebook, MySpace, etc. They all post their blogs there now. Perhaps they think of this as high-school era. Perhaps they are right. But this is my home damnit and I ain't fucking moving so if they wanna know me or pretend that they care, ( Read more... )

The pressure to finish school is incredibly overwhelming. I'm still in the process myself and something a few years ago I was really struggling. I've been working at Gamestop for 7 years and I enjoy retail, management, and marketing. What I really love doing is playing guitar and making music, but of course in reality, the latter of those 2 is the more realistic one. I decided to finish with a business degree and climb the Gamestop corporate ladder or whatever company I decide really. It's been a frustrating process, but it is honestly never too late to go back to school as long as you go to a good school ( ... )

Lots of state universities have online courses so you can add up some credits. That way you could stay at home, keep your job, and go to school while taking as many or as few classes as you want. If you need something to tickle your brain in the meantime, check out MIT OpenCourseWare. MIT has put up all the materials, lecture notes, and readings from all of their past courses for free. I used it while I was home schooling. (In fact, I can't remember... did you show it to me, or someone else?) Check it out!

I love hearing (or reading) people talk about their fear of failing in something they claim they wish to do. There's a great irony in there. It's actually quite complex from a logical point of view, but still, there's only one real truth to that dilema ( ... )
