Basic facts on me.
Figured I'd do one of the intro journals for my new lj-friends from customers_suck. *waves* But this is stuff my other watchers may not have known anyways. :D
Yo, I'm Kristen, 23 years old, short, and redheaded. I live in fabulous rainy Oregon, where I work as a chalk artist at a local grocery store. I also work as a sometimes-cashier at the same store, which is where all my customer sucks come from. I occasionally do some freelance chalk signs and logo design outside of work.

I live in a sweet duplex with my roommate Desiree, who I've been buds with since 7th grade. This is fantastic, because she can cook and I can't. I also have a cat, Scamp. He's sort of a dope, and Dez is convinced he's a dog trapped in a cat's body. He follows me around constantly, drinks out of the toilet, and will roll over and present his belly if you so much as blink at him.
I don't own a car, so I bike everywhere. Yes, it's pretty sad that a 23-year-old doesn't own a car, or have a license, or even know how to drive. I have been told. :D
Family-wise, I got the lion's share. I'm the youngest of 11... it's a very extended & blended family. I purposely failed every family tree or geneology project in school because there's no making sense of where we all come from. But I love them all! The more, the merrier, they say.
I've recently started dating a sweet guy named Joseph, who I graduated high school with. He's sorta my first boyfriend ever (I'm a late bloomer, shut uuuuup) and I'm quite thrilled. He works at a local mom & pop video store and cranks out self-produced rock/metal albums in his free time. He's pretty awesome.
I love anime & manga, videogames (mostly RPGs), all forms of music (most of my posts contain lyrics at the bottom from my favorite song of the moment), medieval & Japanese weaponry, stand-up comedy, LOLcats, science fiction and fantasy (both literature and movies/TV shows), collecting anime figurines, and reading my webcomics. Frankly, I'm a dork and proud of it.
Things I hate include reality TV, discrimination of any sort, spiders, emo whiners, OMGdrama, and my tendency to make horrendous typos because I can't type for crap.
I use this journal mostly as a sketchblog, and it tends to follow a theme: I've been planning a webcomic called 'Fusion Factor' for the past few years. I'm still stuck in the plot and character design phase, but damn if I don't love designing characters! If you want to read my ramblings about the premise and main cast, it can be found in this entry.
I only post a few times a month, at most, but expect lots of sketches for my webcomic and anime fanart. Welcome to my madness, we like it here!
