Summer Schedule Stuff

Okay, remind me to never promise anymore stuff on the internet ever. (Oh, and remind me to put my laundry in the dryer and charge my cell phone after this too. xD Yes I'm doing laundry at 12 am, what of it?) Because I will make a liar out myself, which is something I am very interested in not doing. I said I would have this up, what, over a week ago? xD Anyway, here it is.
The 1st thing - June 12-16: Was supposed to be drum major camp. It's a four day camp where they teach you how to me a drum major/field commander, leadership skills and conducting and stuff. I had already gone the year before, but I wanted to go again to brush up on my conducting and ask expert people some questions and everything, which is the main reason I'm really disappointed it was cancelled. *sigh* I try not to think about it too much, this really bummed me out.
The 2nd thing - June 19-26: Florida vacation woo! I'm going down for a week with my family to see the rest of my family that lives there. Which means it won't be all fun and games, they're... quite dysfunctional. xD I'm sure I'll still have a nice time, I really love it there. Maybe I'll actually get to go to a good beach this year. Here's hoping. x] (Wow, we're leaving tomorrow and I'm not even started packing. xD;)
The 3rd (and largest) thing - June 27-July 11: Here's basic rundown. This thing called the Lions Club is in most of the states across America. (They do good stuff, like community centered stuff. Honestly I had never heard of them before this.) Every year they have this big national parade in Seattle, Washington. A big (the main, I think) part of it is that a bunch of band students from all across the US come to play in this parade together. (Like, a lot more than one from each state.) The local Lions Club people raised money for one person from my high school to get to go to this thing. And I ended up being it. xD
So yeah, it wasn't like I was the first choice or anything either, my band director went though a bunch of people (mostly higher grade people) before he got to me. Just like, nobody could or wanted to do it. He was actually pretty desperate to give it away, it would look pretty bad if he couldn't get anybody to go, y'know? So I ended up taking it. Here's the very basic itinerary.
I check in to a college in my state (Kentucky, if I haven't mentioned it.), stay there for a few days learning the music, getting placed (like 1st chair, 2nd chair, so on), learning a small marching show (I'm not sure about the details on that one. I think there's some sort of competition between the states or something.) and probably other stuff I don't know about. Then we jump on a bus (like, a nice tour-y one I'm assuming) and head to Seattle. That's 2 days by the way. So there we do the parade and a bunch of other stuff, I'm sure. There's some sort of dance thing too. (Apparently sponsored by the state of Connecticut, it says. Oho.) And then two days back.
So that was the explanation, but now I have to talk about how ridiculously excited for this thing I am. x] Ohman. Like, this is unreal really. I never would have imagined seeing that much of the western US, especially not in high school. You have to understand, I'm going from Kentucky, which is in the upper southeast, to Washington state, not DC, which is in the very very top left corner of America. And, I get to meet people from other states, which is just like this amazing thing to me. I can't even really express the feeling I get when I think about all this. It's just like AAaaaAAhAH, y'know? xD Jeez, so excited.
Yes, if you look at the dates, I have to be at the college the day after we get back form Florida. Still not sure what's going to happen there. xD; (It's not exactly close to my house.) I will so make a big ol' entry about it when I get back, but it may not be very soon after I get back. You know how I am. xD But there will be ~pictures~, yep. Actually got me a little camera, mostly for this trip, though I'm sure it'll be used later.
There's actually more for me to talk about, but I need to get some sleep tonight, I have to get my hair cut tomorrow. And pack. xD; (And god, isn't this thing long enough as it is? D:)
