Trying to get back into my good walking habits, which broke badly mid-late 2010 after I got a cold, then a flu, then a cold. That combo wrecked any hope I had of aerobic fitness (getting puffed walking on flat ground!) and broke my habit of walking every night, though it did help build a habit of sitting on the couch.
A beautiful walking night last night, the air felt humid but cool, reminding me of the feel of a wind coming up off the bay. Since it was blowing from the south, I guess it was. A hint of hot cooking oil in the air from the local McDonalds made me think of fish and chips on the beach.
To my surprise I finally saw lots of locusts. I saw the first one yesterday, in my bathub of all places (it's still there). Last night there were dozens of them hopping around a car yard, probably attracted by the lights or the amazing deals on quality new and used cars. Anyone else seen more than a couple in once place?
Back home with some happy post walk dogs. People think that a greyhound must need a lot of exercise, but in reality after a half hour walk, all Mousie can do it lay on the floor panting like she's just run a race. It's distracting when you're trying to read and all you can hear is GASP GASP GASP GASP.
