Today the trailer for The Girl on the Train movie adaptation came out. I read the book and
I quite enjoyed it, even though it was somewhat predictable to me when I read it, so I'm looking forward to the movie. Yesterday the trailer was online for, like, a blink before it got taken down. But now it's here and, naturally, I have to talk about it.
First, though, here's the trailer:

Okay.
Well.
I'm not sure that this is going to be the same story as I read in the book. The filmmakers could have written a different ending to the book or something like that. But just the fact that they moved the setting from London and its suburbs to New York is already one thing that's going to change the tone of the story.
Also, while I like the look of Emily Blunt as Rachel, Rebecca Ferguson (blonde Ferguson!) as Anna and Haley Bennett as Megan, I had pictured the guys differently. I didn't picture Luke Evans in my head for Scott (I pictured someone more American) and I totally didn't see Justin Theroux as Tom (he was older in my mind). I guess we'll have to see how they play these characters...
Funnily enough this movie has Lisa Kudrow in it. I don't know who she's playing but Wikipedia says her character's name is Monica. There's already a Rachel here. It'd be totally funny if there's another surprise character named Phoebe.
