Outside the Spotlight (Fanfic) Part 3
This is the first day of Hana Kimi production. The team will make all the final adjustments before they start filming.
Toma arrived in the studio. He feels a little weird today. Maybe he's just excited and thrilled. He greeted all the staff and crew and most of them are doing some finishing touches with the props and setting the studio for the drama. He was told to go to the make up room. There are three chairs with the names of each actor attached at the back. Some of the costumes were hanged in one big rack. Toma recognized the uniform they will be wearing as students of Ohsaka Gauken in the drama. There he saw Shun. He was reading something and Toma guessed it was the script.
"Konnichiwa" he said as he went to shake Shun's hand. "Yoroshiku onegaishimasu."
"Yoroshiku."
"Are you reading the script" Toma asked as he seated beside him.
"Do you really think I am reading the script?" Shun said one eye brow raised.
"Uhm," Toma stuttered. Did he offended Shun in the first day of Hana Kimi production? "...don't you?"
Shun made a face and laughed. "Baka! I am reading a manga!"
Toma laughed in relief.
And just like that, the two begun a friendship we are yet to witness.
A few moments later, other actors started arriving. Maki was already there too.
"Konnichiwa, Horikita Maki desu. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu."
Everyone introduced themselves. Even though there is a little awkwardness at the start, everyone got along quite well. They started the final fitting of the uniforms. The production staff called Maki to get ready for the hair cut. Her character requires him to cut her hair very short.
"You're really going to cut your hair." Toma said.
"Yes."
"It's not just short, it will be a boy's cut" Shun metioned. "That's dedication right there."
"It's not really a big deal. My hair is not really that long to begin with." Maki said assuringly.
Maki always maintained a short hair. But this is the first time she will cut it in boy's style. The production hired a hairstylist especially for this. The director never overlooked tiny details in this drama.
When Toma and Shun finished fitting the costumes they'll be wearing, they went to Maki's haircut session.
The hairstylist just did some final trimming and it's done.
"Sugoi!"
"Sugoi!"
Toma: Wow, short hair really suits you.
Maki: It does?
Toma: Yes.
Shun: You look like a kawaii guy.
Maki: (laughs) But I wanted to be an ikemen
Shun: You are! (Laughs)
Toma: You should keep it even after the drama.
Maki: This is the first time I have my hair this short.
Toma: It really looks good on you.
Everyone got ready for the photoshoot. Everyone really enjoyed preparing for this drama. This is the first time all the cast got together and it is already fun. The first filming will start three days from now. And all of them are excited.

I have so many versions of this fanfic and most of them I wrote when I was in my teen years so please excuse the cliche-ness. I wanted this to be as authentic as possible so I tried not to edit too much. This is an ode to my old self 😅
