Writer's Block: Cereal: By the People, For the People
Sadly, it would probably consist of something that is not good for me at all. I am on a Meijer Brand Captain Crunch spree at the moment, but I have a soft spot for Strawberry Mini Wheats. I am unsure which I like better, but I guess they might contain both of those kinds of flavors. I already am commissioned to create a cereal called Ninja-O's or something of that sort, so i would have to keep the title. I guess the cereal could be black, shaped like kunais and shurikens... with little marshmallow ninjas. OOOO!
Anyways, that is not why I decided to post on this blog at all. Way to keep me distracted. The last time I posted I was kind of a dork. I never did tell that certain person anything, but I feel like that was for the best, because I have moved on and am better for it.
But I just wanted to say that I am really disappointed with the world right now. The disturbing video of the 78 year old man getting hit by a car keeps running through my mind. It is enough to make me cry really. The three things I have found most disturbing do not actually include the guy getting hit, but 1) How none of the passing cars stop after the accident, 2) How none of the pedestrians try and help the man, and 3) How stupid people online think it is funny to post a comment on the video saying "I wish I could have been there to run that mother f-er over". And I am also mad at the media for playing it without warning me that they were going to show it. No, "if you are feint of heart, leave the room." Which, I am not, but if I wanted to watch an old man get run over 10 times in a row, I would ask.
Also, with this whole Presidential election thing. It has me worried over the welfare of the country. My mom said something that is really scaring me today. In the car we were talking about him winning the ticket and my mom says, "We need someone extreme in office to turn the country from the medium. And in 4 more years, we will probably elect another Republican." My sister questions her, "Don't you mean 8 years?" My mom replies, "No, Obama will probably get shot before he can get reelected."
And as I think about it more, the sad truth is that there are more than enough people out there who probably would try something that stupid. Just go and read the comments on CNN.com if you want proof. All of us white Americans are sitting safe in our houses, believing that the world is fixed, when it is just as screwed up as it has ever been. I include myself in this, because I know I think the same thing, but at least I am willing to see passed my front door.
Bugger man, I am just distressed. But this is just one more thing I need to hand over to God. After all, God should be the light to the dark path that we all must take through this troubled world.
