Gazing out across the field at our enemies I harden my heart.

I must not pity them, however wretched they be, however awful their overlord.
I must not fear them, though their numbers are uncounted, though their arrows may block out the very sun.
I must not hate them, though my heart burns to, though they killed my father’s son.

I must feel nothing for them.

They must be beneath me, beneath my notice- more lowly than the poorest peasant, the foulest filth.

They killed Anarion.

I shall scatter and shatter them.
