I liked the arpeggio line too, I must admit :) Thanks for taking the time to read and apologies for late reply. Lurgy and life. Sigh. I am behind reading your lovely Fishermouse story, but will leave you a comment tomorrow.
Thank you! Eowyn hated enclosed spaces, but even for her that neverending stretch of sea and sky may have felt overwhelming the first time she saw it. I love the coast too. The West Coast of Scotland is breathtakingly beautiful, even if I live on the East Coast.
That is lovely - how sad to think of them hoping the mallorns would protect them. I can both imagine, and understand, Éowyn tracing her protective circle around his head.
In a situation like that you wouldn't act entirely rationally perhaps, and I like to imagine that the people of Numenor would have imbued mallorn trees with magical properties of a sort. Thanks for reading and sorry about the late reply.
We all conjure or own protective magic at times perhaps, in a small way. Eowyn knew something about life's uncertainties. The notion of dream sharing is an attractive one for story purposes. Thanks for taking the time to read and comment and apologies for the late reply.
