After the Fell Winter, Tharbad had been eagerly seeding crops; thus no one had looked north until the rumbling began.
Towering waters surged ‘til the whole world seemed white and the roar drowned cries ere ever it drowned men.
Cold struck like a fist, and dizzyingly, in an underwater chaos of timber, stone, and bodies, pierced now and again by seeking, saving hands.
Yet Greyflood’s retreat brought new death: cholera scythed through the survivors like devastation.
Flood, plague, famine - what choice? They’d thought to raise crops, but they’ll reap no harvest of men from their burying.
Ancient Tharbad dies abandoned.
