Light & Dark Challenge; Sailing

I sat down to write at least one more drabble following Sam as he sailed West. And somehow it began to gather the prompts together so that this includes all of them, even the two I've already done :)

Challenge: Light & Dark Challenge; all six prompts (dawn, feather, rainbow, shadow, night, tomb.)

This Swan ship was a good deal bigger than the one in which he had sailed down the Anduin so many years before, and at first he felt so ill he thought all he’d need by the time they arrived was a tomb.

Then he found sitting on deck, in the shadow of the billowing sail, was better than down below and eschewed the cabin even at night.

So he was one of the few passengers who saw the rainbow at dawn, gateway to the straight road, felt the sea calm and the ship float on, light as a feather.
