I'm tired . . .
I have found myself to be tired of work. I have found myself to be tired of responsibilities. I have found myself tired of everything. The next few weekends promise to be really busy. A wedding to attend in Indy area while making it to the bonfire and seeing the kids' new rooms that T worked so hard on. The weekend after that is working (maybe or maybe not) and the weekend after that J comes to visit for my birthday. Oh did I mention in the middle there there is a possibility of striking or a lock out? The union contract is up for renegotiation and the second vote is today. If they reject the contract again today then they will vote about striking. I don't see how the company could choose to do a lock out due to the small number of non-union employees that are still at the plant. The last time they did this they had A LOT more non-union employees.
Oh well . . . this weekend I went to an Irish Meetup. This group had information about a trip to Ireland and a weekend get away in Galena IL. There was a glenlivet sampling bar so I got to try 5 different scotch whiskeys I haven't tried before. And then late Friday night decided to head to Ft. Wayne in the morning for Octobeer Fest. Amazing lunch at the Dash In, go conversation wtih owner, and simple fare but complex flavors. Off to the beerfest where I actually participated pretty well. I only really turned away from one beer, a pilsner, yuck! Then dinner with a great cover band with a jazz / blues influence. Then some interesting shopping for squeak toys and I, Robot. Today mexican and who knows, but back to the world of chicagoland at some point. The part of me that doesn't want to work anymore wishes I could stay away forever. Too bad I have gotten used to having a house, food, and luxuries. Hope you had a great weekend ::hugs::
