I understand what you're saying. In some sense I'm sure it is nice to believe you're going to be "saved". But then again, in that belief, there creates undesired human traits- jealously( why aren't I save? What makes them special), favoritism( meek shall inherit the earth? Really? i think some people might have problems with that), judgement( yeah, we don't want to get started on all the people who are doomed to burn in hell for one little thing or another) and of course, those Christians who think their better than everyone else.
But me personally, I for lack of a better word, enjoy living in this plain. With the lies, the wars, the disease the unequality. And of course, those moments of love and kindness. I don't believe in world peace. I know that makes me a horrible person. And I'm sure I'll be told that. But there will always be war. We aren't angels we are humans. We have anger and jealousy and greed. And I embrace that. We are complex people. And when the time comes for us to die, well, who knows what happens. I'm not kidding myself into thinking I'll go to a cloudy club in the sky. I will die and my ashes will be scattered. And that will be it. My "never ending life" will be in those I loved that are still alive. They will carry something from me, either a gene or a saying or a story that will live on through the generations. And that's enough for me.

I agree, to an extent. I don't think, realistically, that humans will ever reach some Utopian ideal. But just because something won't work is no reason not try, I think. But it's good to be happy with the way things are. It's better than...you know, not being happy...profound enough? :p
