Go here for Part 2

I've figured it's time to have a public entry filled with a masterpost of copious web tools and tutorials in which can be useful for some of you (especially if you're new here). If you guys know a cool tool or various communities to add here, feel free to comment and I'll add right away!

Firefox/Chrome Stuff
  • DownThemAll! - a pretty nifty download manager that's really good and preferable over the default firefox download manager IMO. Sadly, I don't know a Chrome equivalent for this and if there is one, I'll add it here.
  • Flashblock for Firefox - Tired of annoying flash ads? Well this tool is your best friend! Here's one for Google Chrome users.
  • Adblock Plus - Fight away those pesky advertisements. (including those annoying video ones from Photobucket)
  • No-Script for Firefox - Do you want to allow certain pop-ups and content from the sites you really trust? Look no further than this tool! Chrome users, use ScriptSafe.

  • Dreamwidth Stuff
  • LJ Hook extention for Firefox - a tool that's very useful to make HTML using pretty easy for LJ entries. It can be used for dreamwidth as well by adding dreamwidth's website on the Clone Manager (listed under "preferences" after you right click). Chrome users, use LJ Chook for a similar program.
  • How to make subjects into permalinks on Dreamwidth
  • a guide for Livejournal users getting into Dreamwidth
  • A Tutorial on adding a Livejournal layout to Dreamwidth

  • dreamwidthlayouts - Exactly what the title says.
  • How to remove the annoying "tags" and "memories" after you've imported your Livejournal layout to Dreamwidth
  • How to import a moodtheme to Dreamwidth but with a caveat: it's only for paid users
  • How to add a flexible squares layout on Dreamwidth

  • star_wars - a community for the mega-blockbuster science fiction flick Star Wars, it's original, prequel and soon, the new trilogy versions, it's video games and various web graphics

lj_refugees - a community to meet people who were once members of Livejournal or people who are new to Dreamwidth. Also good to pimp out new communities and various memes (i.e: friending memes)

venture - a place to post memes (i.e. honesty, friending, how's my driving, the ____ to my _____ memes)

    Livejournal Stuff
I won't delve too much on the tools such as LJ hook here because you can find that on the dreamwith part of the section.

  • How to add moodthemes in Livejournal

  • newmembers - a place to introduce yourself and meet new members of livejournal
memeswhores - a place to post memes
    friend-memes - a place to post/comment on friending memes
mintyapple - a place to get layouts for your personal journal

    Tumblr Stuff

I was going to link the Missing-e extension, but after Tumblr's new change, it's pretty much defunct now and a bit buggy. (at least on my end)

  • Tumblr Savior for Firefox - tired of seeing posts about "iPhones", "Twilight", "50 Shades of Grey" and "NSFW" stuff for example? Then this tool is for you. You get a list of things you want to blacklist and things you want to whitelist for your eyes only. Chrome Users, this is for you.
  • xkit - a nifty tool quite like "Missing e", except it's powerful and has a block option, reblog yourself option, the return of tumblr crushes and a fully functional Tumblr Savior too. Highly recommended.
  • AnimePS - a tumblr community that has nifty PSDs and tutorials for making various web graphics , especially tumblr graphics, but for Japanese animation, via Photoshop. Think of it as icon_tutorial/toon_tutorials but for tumblr.
  • yeahps - a community for getting various graphic PSDs, resources and more. Think of it as texturize/icon_tutorial/toon_tutorials but for tumblr.
  • a tutorial on manga coloring written by ohbirds at tumblr
  • a tutorial on how to make gifs on Photoshop
