One of my friends just posted on their LJ about how they wished they could just pack up and leave, moving 3000+ miles away. In retrospect, that's exactly what I did when I graduated. I think, when I was in New England this summer, I was a bit disappointed and deluded about how everyone I still talked to would be happy to see me, to hang out again. ( Read more... )

So I finally bought "Alex & Me" by Dr. Irene Pepperberg. She wrote the book sometime after Alex had died, and the first chapter is all about the outpouring of support for her following his death. Still trying to kick this cold thing I have. The symptoms change on a daily basis and it's driving me nuts. First it looked like strep, sore throat, no congestion, fever... the next day, no sore throat, but I can't really talk well.
