I was looking up at the stars when I felt a drop of water fell on my cheek. It began to rain. I walked back inside into an empty room with an equally empty bed. The owner of it was out without telling anyone again. That's just like him.
I laid on the bed with my head on his pillow. I breathe in his scent, then I heard a ringtone from my phone. There was a message from him.
[Pick me up.]
I replied back. [Where are you?]
His response. [Remember that place?]
I scanned my memory of 'that place'. I wondered if it was 'that place'?
I replied. [I'll find you.]
He seems to have a thing for hide and seek. It seems that way. I don't like this game too much though. Because he's always the hider and I'm always the seeker.
There was a time when I really hated this game. It's that part where everyone runs away from you and leaving you all alone in the middle of the park cluelessly searching behind trees and bushes. But as I grew up things change. I met him. If it weren't for him I would have given up on this game long ago.
I pulled up my car at 'that place' by the river he liked so much. I remembered he said it before that he liked the peace. He liked the sound of water running down from the stream. He liked the big open sky filled with stars. And he liked the feeling of being alone without feeling lonely. Because he hated the feeling of being alone in a crowd.
However, on this night there were no stars. It was raining. All that can heard were shattering raindrops and distant thunder. Not just the stars I couldn't see him either.
With an umbrella over my head I ran around the sludgy grass field in the rain calling his name. "YOOCHUN, YOOCHUN, YOOCHUN~AHH!"
I was starting to get really worried when I found him hiding behind a tree, ironically.
"Yoochun!" I ran to him.
He was drenched and shivering. Then I saw what he was wearing. A cap, a light hooded sweater, khakis just over his knees, and slippers. It's no wonder he was in his state.
I let out a big sigh. "You idiot, what were you thinking coming out like this?!"
He just looked down without an answer. I saw his lips quivered from the cold.
I sighed again and shook my head. "Here, hold this."
I gave him the, still open, umbrella that was big enough to cover the both of us. Then I took off my raincoat and pulled it over his shoulder.
"Put that on." I held the umbrella again so he could put on the coat.
Then he finally looked at me. "Jaejoong-hyung..." He pause for a second.
The next thing I know he had his arms wrapped around my shoulders.
"Thank you for finding me." He said it softly in my ear.
Eventually, a smile came to my lips.
"Yoochun, I'll always find you." I told him.
We stayed there until the rain stopped. Then we waited to watch the sunrise - just like that time I remembered.
