While some of you lovelies celebrated October 31st as the day of Halloween, it was also Sis#1's birthday! :D
Which I forgot D:
I actually remembered it as being on Halloween, but for some reason, even as I'm seeing posts of people going to Halloween parties, or talking about their costumes, and basically posting 'Happy Halloween!!!', I remembered it in my head as being in December? Yeah, I don't know where my mind goes sometimes.
So I remembered because Sis#2 came up to me and asked, 'What are we going to do?'. Neither of us had any ideas so we just decided to go out and let it come to us. After about half an hour of looking, I got hungry, so we decided to take a break.
Waiting for food is a good time for inspiration to hit! So the idea that came to me was that we get a bunch of balloons, fill up a room in it, and hide her present in one of the balloons so we'd force her to pop them to get to it. It sounded like a fun time so we decided to go with that. We ended up buying a few chocolates to hide in some of the balloons, some beauty stuff, a pair of earrings and a chunky necklace (which wasn't an easy thing to squish into a balloon, let me tell you).
The earrings were cute, like tiny chandeliers~
[As we were eating, Sis#1 called us and turns out the husband surprised her with a barbeque. So technically she already had her birthday party but whatever.]
The whole thing sounded cool but actually doing it... ^^; We spent from 9ish to around 1 a.m. blowing and tying up balloons. We had about 400+ balloons but only did just under 200 because she has lazy ass sisters who were starting to get tired and delirious from lack of sleep (unfortunately, it was only us two. If we had managed to recruit more people, we could've done more). My fingers were still hurting the next morning. I shed blood tying up those balloons; now that's a labour of love XD
Sis#2 hard at work.
Then we had to sneak from my room past her door to hide the balloons in the library. We also added confetti in some of them and Sis#2 had the sweet idea of adding notes as well. So we waited until the others were home and asked them to write notes.
So on the day, we brought her outside the library; 'I was told there were presents? :D'. We gave her a stick with a pin taped on one end. She was like, 'o_0 Whaaat's going on...?'. The niece held her first balloon which contained the first present. Earplugs. When she popped it and saw them she was like, 'Too late! You should've given them to me earlier', but we were like, 'just wear them ;)'
Lol this looks bad out of context. I can say with honesty that she did not javelin throw it at her daughter. Her husband was like, 'Nooo!!' XD
Then she entered the room where we kept all the balloons. 'If you want your presents, you have to pop them all!'. She just went for it, going 'Wooooooooooooooo!!!!!!'. And when the niece got it on the action, that little girl went crazy lol. It was adorable and frightening at the same time.
The carnage.
Afterwards, when the excitement had died down, we were all quiet like as if crashing down from a sugar rush XD It was really fun, but oh so tiring.
I told Sis#2, 'Next year we'll just get her a voucher'.
//Monday is a holiday; I'm looking forward to an extra lazy day...
