Settle me down with a cup and a book.

On Thursday, I had to go to the Attorney General's Chambers for a meeting and that experience made me realise just how not good I am at this. I was pretty silent most of it through and whenever they looked at me for a response, I was like, 'umm...' *blank* I feel so incompetent at this job but I do really want to try. I do still feel kind of lonely that I'm basically the only person in my department. Technically, my boss hasn't even been hired yet (don't know if one will ever be) so I'm sort of hijacking the guidance of a boss from a different department.

Another reason that I would like to not be the only person in this department is because there's originally supposed to be four divisions; I'm patents, and the other three are entrepreneurship, ip consultation and commercialisation. So right now I'm basically the entire department and I'm being told to do stuff that's not exactly under my job description (except where the clause went '...and whatever your superior tells you to do', which basically, yep, covers it). I mean, it's not that overwhelming yet, but I'd still like some company.

Sunday was a nice day. The ladies in this family (+brother-in-law, sometimes) are trying to start out a new tradition where we eat out every weekend for breakfast and take turns paying. We've missed a few weeks here and there but it's been a nice experience so far.

Then we dropped by my Sis#1's new gym she's trying to set up.

Later that afternoon, me and Sis#2 went out to meet her friend for tea, who also happens to work at the same place as me. She's trying to quit though, but man is it not that simple. So while they talked, I checked out the book selection they had laying on the table.

It was at Matador, nice with a somewhat man's club ambience with the dark wood finishings.

And notice my boots? :D Little story, my mom despises shoe shopping with me. We could go through 2/3+ stores without buying a pair because they would never fit right. I admit, I'm a pain to buy shoes with, but I've got big oddly-shaped feet! So these are the first shoes I've ever bought online, at Clockwork Couture. I checked out the UK size against the US size against the Japan size, just to make sure. And oh my gosh, am I just the happiest little thing when these came and fit well~

My sis also mentioned to me that her friend told her there was a new bookstore around, so of course I wanted to go check it out. Actually, we looked for it before but no luck, and my sis just found it the day before but it was closed. The place is called Nyneish, and it opens - can you guess? come on, guess - from 9ish to 9ish. It's small and pretty, caters mostly to the design crowd with a few other genres and knicks knacks in there.

I kind of wonder how long they'll last. Location is semi-hidden, marketing is virtually none and content is very niche. I hope them the best though, we need more bookstores in this country! ^_^

Lately I've been playing with the idea of opening my own bookstore. I've been visiting BookshopBlog.com a lot lately. It's definitely something I want to see in my future :)

Then we went and looked at birdcages afterwards, just because..
