This past weekend my mom got remarried. And everything went much better than I could have hoped for. It was a really good weekend- I wish I could have stayed longer, but my job doesn't have much time that I could be away from it. Oh well. I was able to fly into Seattle on Friday morning and then drive with my sister to the Oregon Coast- getting there just in time for a wonderful dinner of clam chowder made from scratch by one of my great-uncles.
The best part of the weekend was the housing. My mom and her husband rented a giant house on the beach and both families stayed there. It made getting to know people easy and fun. And it was beautiful.
I had my fears, but everything was nearly perfect. His family is so neat and nice and genuine. I felt really welcomed by every single one of them. And now I have new family all over the country. Including
these two. And it was great to see a lot of my family that I haven't seen in a long while.
Being back in the Pacific Northwest made me realize how much I really miss it. I do. A lot. I am liking Phoenix, but it isn't Seattle. I'll go back for a real visit sometime.
It was just a great time. I was surrounded by love. And how can you beat that?
:-)
