dear journal,

i had an unexpectedly great weekend. friday night we were wondering what the F we were going to do with ourselves for the 3 day weekend. i really wanted to leave the city. arthur called his mom to see if they'd be around and if we could get a car, could we visit. of course she said yes :)  we went online and found exactly 1 zip car left, a ford fusion, and it was parked 6 blocks away from us! we grabbed it and left for CT that night. we made a few stops along the way, so we didn't actually reach their house until around midnight. we went right to bed and slept in saturday morning.

saturday we went to the grocery store and packed ourselves a picnic. we hiked into the woods, up a pretty steep mountain near a ski resort and found the perfect picnic table on the top, overlooking a lake. it was beautiful! it looked like colorado. we got lost on our way back. i think we accidentally followed a different trail. good thing it wasn't dark out! arthur pulled up the compass on his cell phone and it's a good thing he did because we were headed in the completely wrong direction. lol! so the hike took a little longer than planned, but we made it back safe and sound. oh and we saw a wild fox (i think it was a fox) in the woods. i saw a hawk too. oh and a bird pooped on my head. we took a nap when we got back to the house (a lot of sleeping went on this weekend), and by that time it was time for dinner. we went out to eat with his parents and then went for another walk on a trail near their house where i saw wild beavers playing in a pond! i'm amazed at all the wildlife because there isn't any in the city, and i never saw stuff like that growing up in chicago. they were all making fun of how excited i got over the beavers. lol.

sunday we drove to another town and did a little shopping. didn't buy much. then after lunch we went back to the house for another nap but i convinced arthur to provide some sexual favors instead. i don't think i posted about this yet on my journal, but arthur apparently has an anal fissure which makes it pretty much impossible for us to have sex right now. not only does it hurt, it increases his risk of contracting HIV, and he's using some kind of ointment that would cause the condom to break. so that's bad news for both of us. we managed to do some other things though :)  on monday we left after breakfast because there was still laundry and stuff to do back home.

all in all, it was a nice weekend (i might add that the weather was perfect...not too hot, sunny and breezy). and no, there were no ghost sightings.
