[turbulence as the microphone switches on on its own, catching the first few accords of a simple guitar solo, Seiya's voice following the melody in fragments]

I... always by your side... [faint buzzing as the microphone adjusts to the sound, evening out] I will protect... [an audible intake of breath as Seiya prepares for the high note of doom] ... you...
[fail, Seiya's voice too weak to really carry the tone, a frustrated sigh followed by a repeat of the melody and another try]

[and fail goes here. again. the note is as off as off can be and makes the microphone react with a horrible ringing. a stool scrapes over the floor as Seiya stands up, his voice frustrated when he shouts]
SHIMATTA! Why can't I HIT that note! ARGH!
[a pause as he seemingly realises the microphone is on, making him swear under his breath, then his voice is suddenly closer, the words clear and obviously carrying a cheeky grin]
Yo, City - it's Seiya Kou! Well... [he sounds only slightly embarrassed here] anyone out there trained vocalists? It seems I need to work a bit on my high register. [quickly masks the embarrassment] I'm not a girl, after all, yeah? Tch, can't expect me to be born with a falsetto...
[more buzzing as he's about to shut the microphone off, then quickly adds]
Oi, and Michiru-san... this is for our duet. I know, it's still only a rough draft and the lyrics aren't done yet, but... what do you think?
[a slight pause, then a snort and an almost audible shrug as he throws a question out, trying his best to sound casual]
