Eggs have Brothers too....

I had a long, but mostly good, weekend. I'll let it begin on Thursday. I had 3 classes back to back (after doing more than 8 hours of homework Wednesday) they went fine. I went right from my class to Portland where I met SarahBeth so that we could make a journey to Babies R Us to get a present for Jessica's baby shower. That was an interesting adventure. That store is HUGE, and she had a registry which actually made it more difficult. In short, there was a crazy lady at the desk, who circled all the items she thought were good. I ended up with a toy (fun) and a book (I'm taking children's lit what do you expect)

We came back here in time for dinner and then the Student Involvement Fair. I love those things, I really do, but I'm so ADD that I like to wonder around and talk to everyone and see what's going on. Oh did I mention that Wills stole my card, and replaced it with his own? Don't worry I got it back, the little punk. Following the SIF was the hypnotist. He was good, nothing like seeing an unsuspecting college student who thinks he's a kangaroo put marshmallows down his pants because he thinks he's feeding the baby in his pouch. After that I had to work 11-3 wooeee!!

Then I had to get up and go to Portland where I am an imaginary tour guide. That's right, they pay me NOT to give tours. I have to travel an hour, and sit there for an hour, because no one has signed up for tours. I at least got some of my children's lit done there on Friday. I came back here, really tired, and did more of my childrens lit.

Christine and I went to STRIVE....and boy was that an interesting time. We got there and realized it was talent show night, so instead of playing games and stuff we just sat and watched the show. And then an almost totally non-verbal man named Cody wheeled himself over and started tugging on my shirt. Let's just say that a lot happened in the next 40 minutes or so. Basically we had to find out how to communicate with Cody, and figure out what he needed. He didn't really form complete words, more like a series of sounds. We finally decided that he wanted to sing (his worker says "Oh yeah, he can't talk but he LOVES to sing") Then we figure out that he wants to sing Summer Nights, from Grease. Now anyone who has seen Grease knows that this is not a song for just one person. That's right folks, Cody wants Christine and I to sing with him. OH NO...so we manage to get him bumped up on the list, and we did it. It was obvious that Cody knew all the words and Christine and I sang and danced around, it was almost fun. The really good part was seeing Cody's face afterwards, he was so happy, and laughing. His worker said he would remember it for a long time....and that is what it's all about.

I came back and worked 9-1, because I am a sucker.
I had to be at the field house at 8am to meet Ray to help out with Homecoming. For all of you out there who think that Rodney is fun...wait until you meet RAY!! We love him, he loves us. And he thinks I'm funny!! YAY!! We got to blow up over 100 balloons and distbute them all over campus. Which could have been fun, if it were not POURING AND 40 DEGREES outside. But again, Ray really appreciated what we did, and he made it fun, so it was ok. Plus we got LOADS of free stuff.

HAHAHA, so we were at brunch on Saturday with Leash and Jennell and I announce that I have to pee. So Jennell offers me $3 to run into the bathroom holding myself yelling, "I gotta go, I gotta go" We all find this hilarious and start laughing accordingly. I ask Jennell what happens if I laugh so hard I wet my pants on the way and she says "I'll give you $5" That's right, my friend, adviser, and in some situations mentor, offered me $5 to wet my pants in the cafeteria. It was very funny. And no, I didn't do it.

Vange called in the afternoon and let me know that Lari was in town!! YAY for Lari. I haven't seen her sense we went to PEI together 2 summers ago. So we got together for a couple of hours and had pizza and played phase 10. It was great, just like old times. Lari has the same phone as me so she taught me some fun features!! I'm glad I got to go out with them (even if I did leave my phone in Vange's car)

I came back and we had CK movie night. I had a whole 4 people show up. We watched YAYA sisterhood, and ate cub scout popcorn that Ray bought us...mmmm....

Today was Jessica's "surprise" baby shower. It turned out not to be a surprise at all....her mother slipped, haha, but it worked out better that way anyway. It was great to see Jess, and Beth and Paul, we got some good laughs in. I'm going to stalk them at the hospital when she has the baby...cause why not.

Ok I'm almost done work now (28 more minutes) I've gotten a lot of things done on my to do list...but unfortunately every day it grows bigger. I guess that's what happens when you work 2 jobs, and do homework, and are the President of two student groups...oh did I mention that I might be taking on another little position...but that's top secret for now...hahaha!!

Ok Good Night all, I hope you enjoyed reading about my fun filled weekend!!
