Have you ever felt like you have broken up with someone that you never actually dated?? It's actually a very strange phenomenon. Especially when you start hearing things about their girlfriend...what is a "friend" to do?? Hmmmm....
ANYWAY,What a crazy week. I woke up at 4:45 Monday morning to go to the MDA (Jerry Lewis) Telethon. I didn't actually take any calls because I was phone number 20, which meant, at 7am, that the 19 phones ahead of me all had to be busy at the same time in order for me to get a call. It was still fun to chill at the TV station, and while we were there they brought in like $75,000 not too shabby.
Oh yeah did I mention that my computer died? Dell told me I needed a new Hard Drive, and then retracted it when my computer passed all the tests. So stumped, Francis insisted he call me back in two hours. Eventually my hard drive was reinstalled and (Smart Move #1) I hadn't backed up any of my files, so everything I've done in the last 3 years is gone, but hey I didn't have to buy a hard drive. Then I plugged my internet cable in, apparently before my virus software was done loading (smart move #2) and I got a virus that shut my computer down every 60 seconds. Somewhere in all of this I try to reinstall Word and realize that I need a "Product Key Code" located on the box and oddly enough I had thrown the boxes out (Smart move #3) so basically now I have a really nice hunk of plastic...with no real features. I tried to call the help desk 500 times and everytime they told me to download something new, none of which helped AT ALL.
In the mean time being the smart kid I am, I decide that I need to MAKE 50 cupcakes for the Circle K meeting instead of just buying them like everyone else wanted to do. BAH HUMBUG.
I must say however I think they came out really good, and the meeting went smoothly. We had 25 people there, we ate, and played games and gave out prizes. I tried to change the agenda around a little bit to make it less formal and more fun so that was good. I think people enjoyed themselves. It kind of upset me that the people I would have thought to be my biggest support aren't...but it'll be ok, because I have many other people to back me up. ANYWAY...we'll see how many come back!
Let's skip ahead to today.
I got up and went to the Admissions house, where there was pizza waiting for me. This is the job I REALLY don't want to have right now but feel obligated to go to. We talked for a while and then they went on a tour, which Jay told me I didn't have to go on because I was doing Portland and not Gorham. So I left, and came back here and called Res-Net. I brought Enrique up there to be looked at. He was gone for about three hours and when he came back his virus was all gone!! YAY!! In the mean time I went back to Admissions to fill out my paperwork and decided to go to Hannaford and cash my check from mom so I could do laundry. I also bought strawberry milk from Smiling Hill Farm, because I love it.
When I got Enrique back I called Dell to find out for sure about the Product Key Code and they told me to call Microsoft, so I did, and LOW AND BEHOLD....THEY GAVE IT TO ME!!! YAY!!! So now Enrique is back, and good as new, and I did it all legally without paying anyone anything. I don't think you realize how much you use something until it's gone.
When Katie got home we went up to Woodward to pick up a movie and chat with her friends. I like them, they are fun, but smart, a very good combo. I came back here, and have now been working for 5 hours and 45 minutes. Only 15 minutes left. I got to talk to fun people tonight, like Katie (hahahah) and John (well he's sort of fun) it's nice to have visitors anyway. In the mean time I made a list of the 24 closest elementary schools, their address and telephone numbers....Circle K'ers beware...BELTS are near!! Needless to say I'm in a much better place than I was I must be going Monday...let's keep it like that!! Ok I must be going now, I have to pack up and go to bed...tomorrow is Wedding Dress shopping day!! Good Night!
