Don't ask me why I was browsing myspace again today. Could it be that I like torturing myself by looking at all the lovely women I will never have? *shrugs* Moving on....
There's a bulletin I read today that piqued my interest. It says 'To all the Nice guys'...fair 'nuff, I wonder what those spineless little bitches are up to now.....so I click the link and feast my eyes on what appears to be a list of my old (really annoying) habits.
Here's some of them for your viewing/laughing/pointing pleasure:
To every guy who knows which girl he wants.
To every guy that's said, "Sex can wait."
To every guy that's said, "You're beautiful."
To every guy that was never too busy to drive across town to see her.
To every guy that gives flowers and a card when she is sick.
To every guy who has given her flowers just because.
To every guy that said he would die for her.
To every guy that really would.
To every guy that did what she wanted to do.
To every guy that cried in front of her.
To every guy that she cried in front of.
To every guy that holds hands with her.
To every guy that kisses her with meaning.
To every guy that hugs her when she's sad.
To every guy that hugs her for no reason at all.
To every guy who would give their jacket up.
To every guy that calls to make sure she got home safe.
To every guy that would sit and wait for her for hours just to be able to see her for ten minutes.
To every guy that would give his seat up.
To every guy that just wants to cuddle.
I pretty much had to look at something else because the memories of my frustration with this particular behavior were beginning to surface again. The Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus are both more real than what this list describes. When I considered myself a 'nice' guy, I let people walk all over me and silently resented them for it...it was fucking miserable. I wish I knew earlier how much bullshit this 'nice guy' crap is in the 21st century. People just don't play by these rules anymore.
Nobody respects 'Nice guys' because they have no respect for themselves...which is why they dedicate their attention on pleasing others. I really gave that a try because I wanted to be different and be appreciated for not being 'like other guys'. It just so happens that I am not like other guys for other reasons, so the 'nice guy' label is pretty counter-productive to my social needs.
This list goes on, but I'll spare you from reading the rest of it. Take my word for it, I don't think these 'nice guys' exist anymore and if they do, you wont notice them.
