i am a failure
i am such a moron. obviously the overtures is something to be taken seriously, but i suppose it never occured to me that the writing sample would be due the same day as the entry forms. OOPDIE. so now i can't enter, and i was just as good as those pretentious bitches last year. sigh. now i'm projecting, they were actually very talented and made me feel very insecure, but i was just as good as them. except for megan freshley and that other girl with the nice blazer and cute hair, if my humor is dry then hers is the freaking... i don't know, sahara or something. she was really good. and i tried to come up with something so i could maybe enter, but the length requirement is five to TWENTY pages. sorry, we can't all be hope norman. i think the only things i've ever written that were over five pages were a health paper in 10th grade and my government essay, neither of which are any more legitimate than like... if i submitted my livejournal in like perks of being a wallflower cryptic letter to no one format. this blows, i was going to be part of a super squad. but kara's probably not doing it either. so it's a super squad of two.
ok, i'm really worried about college.
ok, doug said something today that really pissed me off. so i'm asking him what gowri thought about everyone, and he's like: well he thought cindy was absolutely GORGEOUS, and she thought kara was beautiful too, and she liked some of the songs on the cd you left at my house. some of it showed promise.
like, oh amy, not only could she think of nohting good to say about you, but she and i listened to a cd i asked you to bring, picked it apart, laughed scornfully at your inferior taste and your childish attatchment to coldplay, but we were considerate enough to condescend to admit that a few of our guilty pleasures were included on your mix.
well i'll have you know, you pretentious pain in the ass, that kasey and lizz listened to that cd the whole time they were in france, and jillions of people have asked me for copies of it, and i like that mix and there is effing nothing wrong with it, and you listen to no doubt too, and calling it 'their early stuff' doesn't make it any different from the one track i had on my mix. and who are you to criticize anyone's taste in music? just b/c you......lkajd YOU HAVE MEATLOAF IN YOUR CAR! YOU ACTUALLY LISTEN TO MEATLOAF!! AND YOU'RE NOT ASHAMED OF THE FACT THAT YOU LISTEN TO MEATLOAF!
not to mention the fact that all of my friends are gorgeous, and how does DOUG have a girlfriend as cool as gowri.... the world is an unfriendly place sometimes.
i should just submit this. watch it win, they'll interpret my incessant whining about boys as an ironic commentary on gender roles or something.
oh man, i watched trading spouses again tonight. that show is 100% GOLD. i really want my family to go on trading spouses, and my mom would actually DELIGHT in taking over some republican orthodox christian family. she's like me, she's willing to do anythign as long as she's sure there are great stories guarunteed.
