JACK. JACKJACKJACKJACK. I LOVE JACK. Dude. It's almost irrational, how much i love him. (almost!) It's just... he's the HERO, and he's so doubtful and sad, and pretty, and it's so cute how he has. to. save. everyone. "I have to be the hero! No no, i don't want to be the hero! FUCK YOU, DAD!" And he's had the hero complex ever since he was a kid! And failure issues! Aww. The beginning was so great, with the running and whipping off of the shirt and swimming. AWESOME. No, no, really. AWESOME. Because of the running. And the stripping. And the swimming. And the stripping. AND WOW HE'S A GOOD SWIMMER. GO JACK GO! You could even do that every episode if you really wanted! I wouldn't mind! And holding on to Boone in the water was adorable, with the wetness and the nakedness and the almost dying. And deciding who to save! Shit, that was tense. I was all "AGH! POP QUIZ, HOT SHOT!" So, there's Dead Castaway #1. Funny, i had heard the passenger number before, but the fact that it was 47 didn't actually register until tonight. I am out of it.
When we first saw suit man, i vaguely thought "it's his dad!", as he had just mentioned the whole doctor family thing, but i thought "naaaaaaah. That wouldn't make SENSE!" so i disregarded it as me being silly. Ha ha! Ha! Ha. The dolls and the coffin and how suit man's back was to Jack whenever he popped up in the forest was all reeeeeally quite creepy. And i wanna know what Jack DID. The thing that his mom mentioned. What! Whatwhatwhat tell me! Whatever it is, he's got some guilt about something (err, obviously!). Like Kate. Which is why they are OTP4ever. (*cough*i didn't really mean that. i was kidding. sort of. no, this show doesn't have a constant OTP. Except maybe castaways+island!) Oh, and the flashback scenes? JACKISSOPRETTY. Yep! Just thought you should know! And Jack Shepherd! So what if it's obvious, he has a last name! I kept wondering about that, if we were going to get full names, since John Locke was the only one we had so far. For now, Kate's last name is Jones, because i say so. Kate Jones. (it's not like there aren't any other Alias parallels! Oh, look, Alice in Wonderland! Sydney, hahaha!)
"A crazy man doesn't think he's going crazy, he thinks he's getting saner." Locke is AWESOME. The whole magical island thing is pretty fucked up. But then, so is this entire show. Which is why it rocks. I don't know, i like all the weirdness and questions of fate and human nature and life and death and good and evil. I love epic stuff like that, hero's journeys and mortal peril and everything.
I love Sawyer. I probably loved him more than ever in this episode (due in part to the hotness, i'm sure!) He's such an asshole. Of course he's the island trader/salesman, it just makes good sense. And oop, there goes the Kate/Sawyer again! (whenever he gets all up next to her, like he's challenging her and she just looks annoyed and he just smirks... that's pretty hot!) I think it's funny how many people are shipping them. I'm practically unconventional for shipping Jack/Kate, even though they're the conventional ones! ROCK. See, i get so conventional that i become unconventional. There are always losers like me who go for that stuff. "Sickies", i like to call them. But DUDE, it's ridiculous how much you can ship everyone on this show. I rather like the Jack/Kate/Sawyer/Sayid love SQUARE. Really, look at the combinations. THEY ALL WORK. I like the Kate/Sayid vibe there's been. Also, i like saying "Sayid and Sawyer", because it sounds like a lawfirm. And then there's Charlie/Claire, who are so cute and nice and happy (despite latent angst of drugs and pregnancy out of wedlock)! And the triangle with Boone (and Shannon)! I like Boone, how he wants to be the hero but is overshadowed by Jack. Oh, and there's Sun/Jin/Michael, which looks to be headed for big trouble next week, oh boy! And then Sawyer/Shannon (Sticks!) this week. And Jack/Boone. Even Jack/Locke, dude, what is that about? EVERYONE STOP BEING LIKE THAT!
I love Jack. I had to bring it up again! I can't help it. I was so excited that this was his backstory episode, i had been looking forward to that so much. THE ANGST, OH THE ANGST! Matthew Fox is such a good crier, not too over-the-top but just enough to like, KILL YOU. So sad. Soooooooo sad. I liked his Big Leader Speech at the end. ("you don't have to die alone." "everybody dies alone." *cough*Firefly*cough*) And the Jack/Kate by the fire! So pretty and sweet. I like how they have matching facial cuts now, that's cute. (ohmygod, they really ARE Syd and Vaughn! The matching! The confiding! Jack talking about his father's death WHAT! I'm a freak.) Uhm, it's weird they've only been there six days. Nono, it's like, five weeks! Those crazy kidders.
psst, i am psycho crazy in love with this show.
p.s.! In case you didn't see it, i finally finished my Harry mix for
justpopemotion.
Look!
