Holy shit, i loved that opening shootout at Nucky's place. I was totally surprised that they came for him so soon, and then the suspense of him on the run and getting cornered at every turn was really great. I kind of hate that it makes me sympathize with Nucky, but what else are you supposed to do in a situation like this -- it's not like i'm rooting for GYP, come on.
SUUUUCCKKKSS that Eddie got shot, but at least they didn't kill him off and we got Samuel: Mob Doctor (or, more accurately, Mob MEDICAL STUDENT) out of it, which is what i was looking forward to.
CHALKY! I'm excited for him to take over Babette's, i just wish Babette hadn't had to die for something like that to happen. :/ But still SO GREAT to see Nucky having to grovel to Chalky after brushing him off all the time.
Al's entrance at the end was the BESSSSSSTTTTTTT, SHIIIIIIIIT. Also never thought i'd be so relieved to see Eli, dude came in like a fuckin' hero.
I think it's kind of cool that Owen was the opening shot of an all-out war, but i'm really massively disappointed that he's not around to get in badass gunfights with everybody else now that there's open warfare in the streets. SO MANY MISSED OPPORTUNITIES. Last season he was building bombs and murdering dudes and this season we didn't really get to see anything like that, which is another one of my many regrets that they killed him off so relatively soon. :(
I am terrified of next week. I mean they've had some serious bloodbaths on this show, but this just looks like it's gonna be fuckin' bananas. And OH GOD Richard is definitely going on a rampage, which is awesome but i'm absolutely dreading Gillian dying at the end of it. DO NOT WANT. Also WHERE THE FUCK IS MARGARET
In other "wow this show has ruined my life" news, in the past week my Charlie Cox situation has spiraled way out of control and it is honestly an exact repeat of my Michael Pitt situation last year and WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING. Not just that Boardwalk keeps killing off dudes i'm attracted to, but i also keep not getting really obsessed until they're off the show for good??!??? Obviously it's a "don't know what you've got til it's gone" (THEY PAVED PARADISE AND PUT UP A PARKING LOT!) scenario and the whole reason i'm seeking out the movies they've been in is because i don't get to see their face on a weekly basis anymore, but it really SUCKS and I HATE IT.
I was just trying to distract myself and feel better that Margaret/Owen is dunzo but all i did was make it worse. D:
