Oh boy. Every time i skip Tumblr for a handful of days i feel like the entire universe has passed me by and it's impossible to catch up. WHOOPS. Anyway i got sick just in time for the weekend and have been useless and out of it and just today i was reminded that the new Harry Potter movie is THIS FRIDAY. You would think, between Tumblr pretty ( Read more... )

I don't get as excited for the HP films as I used to either, honestly, but I'm still somewhat excited. Mostly everything on Tumblr that's HP-related has been making me feel weirdly nostalgic, it being the final film(s) and all that.

Also, BOO HISS at being sick. I hope you feel better ASAP!

It's weird, i always love the trailers more than the films themselves, and yet immediately preceding the release date i STILL get all hyped up. Now that it's tomorrow i'm all WOOP WOOP HARRY POTTER WOOOOOOOP. I, too, am getting pretty nostalgic about the end just because i've come to really like those kids, and it's insane that we've literally watched them grow up.

I am now feeling better, and yet i have continued to hack my lungs out all week. WHAT IS THAT ABOUT. I hope you're not getting sick like you feared in your last post! You get sick too much! :(

This is kind of a random tangent off your comment about loving the trailers more than the films, but I have a friend who started out as one of the best fanvidders I've ever seen, and went on to work at an Australian trailer house. His job is basically putting these things together (though he still does incredible fan work on the side), so I've heard a lot of interesting commentary about what makes a great trailer from him. The truth is, no matter how bad or good the movie, a great trailer editor (or team of them) can really surpass the quality of the product they're trying to sell, if they're good. The WB/HP team does really, really good work. And it is amazing that the world has basically watched these kids grow up, isn't it? I still remember when they were all wee fluffy BBs! D ( ... )

I BELIEVE IT. Great trailers are a whooooooole separate thing from the movies they're actually for. They convey a totally different type of awesomeness, and if it's for something you're really anticipating, the excitement you get from watching them is unmatched.

I hope you're feeling better. Nobody should have to work themselves so hard when they're sick. :(

I wanted to apologize for the crazy-ass length of that last e-mail I sent you, lol.

DON'T APOLOGIZE! You're adorable. I'm just sorry i haven't been able to reply yet. I am awful at correspondence, it takes me so long to gather my words and i get distracted by other things and then i feel worse and worse for neglecting people. ~SOCIALLY LAZY SLOTH~

Truth! It's funny, even when I like/love a movie, if it had an amazingly epic trailer? Sometimes I'll continue to love the trailer even more. (See: Sin City, Watchmen.)

I actually am! It's amazing, I feel like every cold I've had in the past couple years lingered for weeks and weeks, but this one hit me in less than three hours, and apparently it's also leaving freakishly fast. I'm still not 100% better, but I'm moving through the stages of it way faster than I usually do. So... yay?

Aww, don't worry about it! I can be kind of awful about it too, sometimes, and then I fall into a dangerous spiral very similar to this one, and then oh crap, my Inbox is full of e-mails from May. WHY. D:
